Delta Flight Change Policy

For most flights originating within the United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, Delta no longer charges change fees for tickets in the Main Cabin or higher, including Comfort+, First Class, and Delta One. However, Basic Economy tickets are generally non-refundable and non-changeable, meaning no changes are allowed after the risk-free cancellation period of 24 hours from booking. For international flights, Delta allows changes without fees for most ticket types, but fare differences may apply. If the new flight is more expensive than the original, the customer must pay the difference in fare, whereas if it is cheaper, the difference is usually issued as an eCredit for future use. Same-day changes are available for a fee or at no cost to SkyMiles Medallion members, depending on availability and fare class. Delta also provides a 24-hour risk-free cancellation policy for all tickets, allowing passengers to cancel or change their flight within 24 hours of booking without incurring any fees. In the event of a significant schedule change by Delta, passengers are entitled to a full refund or the option to rebook.
