Well, this review is very close to the one Bernadette had written. From start of the quote to the end product took over 3 months. There were issue's with his phone from the start , also I feel he has trouble hearing on top of continually fading phone . So, he was suppose to pick up the cushions one day , and never came . He sent an email the next day stated his wife had an appointment that he forgot. Definitely not anything you want to hear after giving someone a down payment to order the material. Next he was supposed to come by and pick up the cushions only . He didn't show up at the time and after a few hours , I called him. He stated he had a flat tire and was getting it fixed and was coming by shortly. Not sure what shortly meant because it was 1 hour since I called. My husband had plans with my 2 children and was suppose to leave 2 hours ago with them , as I had to work. I called him backup and told him my husband took the cushions off and we had them in a bag and would keep them on our porch for him to take. This way my husband could have some of day left with the kids. Now this is where is gets interesting... After a few weeks I get a email that he has 5 cushions done but just can't figure why there's issue with one. I called him up to see what is needed for the last one to be done. He stated that he cut himself like a stuck pig and his wife had to get band aids for him, etc. Not anything you want to here as a hospital worker and with the global pandemic. So, I told him I could wait until after Christmas , that I wanted them to come out nice.So he agreed that they need to be perfect. So,3 days later I received another email that he figured out what was wrong and they are ready to be delivered. Yes ! so I thought. I said to come by the next day around 1:30 or 2pm so we can finally wrap things up. He called me up at 10am and said he would be there , I told him I was at work but my husband is home. At 3pm I called my husband to see if he came by and I got Nope, he's not here....Now I called him ....is this sounding familiar . His wife picked up the phone and I told her that he had an appointment and wasn't at my house. She stated oh he must of lost track of time... I said well is he coming she said yes , she will get him in the work shop. I said is everything alright his phone doesn't work or has trouble hearing. She said oh yes ,,everything is fine and said you should just call me. I said who are you? I don't have any other number listed. She giggled and said oh yeah we never met. She went on and said he dropped his phone and yadda ,,, .I said I just need to know if he is coming today.She said yes , He's leaving now. Great 35 minutes later he is calling back to explain why he didn't come earlier.. Now I'm still at work and getting frustrated with this man. I said I can't talk now that I was at work. Listen at this point , I thought (stop talking !!! just finish this transaction up and be done with it) Now I'm just pulling in and see my husband has the garage door up as if he was looking for a tool. No sooner do I get in the house my husband met me at the back door and said I owe him. I'm thinking this can't be good. The guy left as I was getting my boots off. My husband stated he brought the wrong screwdriver and also couldn't even see where to affix the cushions. My husband said that he would do the rest of the work and cut a check so he could just leave. So the final product is a joke. There are staples , string coming off all the cushions, the corners are not even square. The piping looks like a 5 year old had at it with a sewing machine. Yes that bad.. I won't even bother to call him back... Sorry for the unkind words but you deserve each and every one. Enjoy my check because you shouldn't get any business after this. People beware of David Allen Upholstery. Maybe in past days when you were younger and could see your product was good. Stop , your doing a disservice to the community. You don't have a skill set in upholstery. I'm royally disgusting and embarrassed of my so called upholstered chairs. I wish I never made a call to him. Please let 2021 be a better year! :(

to Bernadette: you and your Husband are in my opinion are very nice and good people and I am sorry that I failed you; In my 55 years of business this is the only bad review I have ever received. I have done thousands of jobs in my career and I hope it will always be the only one

Over sized chair & ottoman , we bought the material. Very personable. Started the process in May of 2017 got a quote, found material at a store ( he told us how much to buy). Did not find any we liked in the books he had. Specail ordered, then called him to say we have the material. Took months, when he said a couple weeks till he could pick it up. We got the case & ottoman back 😲 more wrong then right! Staples sticking out everywhere. Blood ! There was plastic cover on the inside seat cushion, when I unzipped it a whole roll of stapels fell out. We waited till after the holidays to return & have him make it right. We had to biy more material. That was our second mistake. The apron on the chair still not right staples still sticking out & stuffing still coming out of unfinished seams. When he dropped it off second time he couldn't leave fast enough, there is still plastic on the inside cushion of the ottaman, every time we use it you can hear it crunching like a grocery bag. My husband won't call him or let me said we are DONE. Nice man (old) likes to talk, past his prime should stop / retire. Sorry Allen Smith you did us WRONG
