Used his service for monthly pool cleaning. On March 27, 2023, we received our regular Quickbooks invoice from Matt for April 2023 service. I paid the monthly fee that day. On March 30 I messaged Matt to confirm he would be coming the next day, March 31. I received the following reply: Hi there! Unfortunately we had a family tragedy that required me to leave San Antonio for Abilene on Tuesday. As of now, our routes have been stopped until further notice:( If you happen to have paid for april, please let me know so that I can issue a refund when I return to SA:( I’ve sent him a follow up message every month since, as well as even an invoice once. To date (September 6, 2023), I’ve not received the refund. So, not only did he not complete services for the entire month of March, for which he was paid, he also didn’t fulfill his prepaid services for April. We’re retired and generally don’t just give away almost $200 a month. Taking money for services not fulfilled is no different than stealing.
