Seacliff Construction & Design provides exemplary residential construction services to homeowners throughout Santa Cruz County and the Monterey Bay area region. California License #819457 Lennox Smith, Principal Lennox Smith is the founder and owner of Seacliff Construction & Design. He is a licensed contractor and has worked in construction, residential design, engineering, and facilities design for over 20 years. He has extensive experience and expertise in designing whole home reconfigurations as well as home and business additions and remodels. Len formerly managed a diverse team of engineers for iBeam Broadcasting, where he designed, deployed, and maintained state-of-the-art Production facilities worldwide for iBeam Broadcasting. He graduated from the University of California in Santa Barbara where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with an emphasis in electronic music. He is an avid musician and has been involved in every aspect of this field including songwriting, arranging, engineering and studio construction. He even performs with his band "RST" on a local and national level. Lennox lives in Aptos with his wife Yvonne, daughter Morgen, and son Vinson. The Smith family has resided in the Santa Cruz area for over 25 years

The upstairs has a large open kitchen and living room along with the master bedroom suite and extensive decks overlooking the green belts of seascape. Even though most of the entertaining and social interaction takes place upstairs, the only bathroom upstairs was in the master bedroom. The owners wanted to add a half bath for guests. We reconfigured the existing master bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen pantry to create a new walk in closet and master bath layout, along with the new 1/2 bath.   | Rio Del Mar Home Remodel | Jan 2013 | This project started as an exterior makeover. There was a rotted deck over the garage that was failing and dangerous. After finding no moisture barrier between the old T-111 wood siding and framing we decided to use the existing siding as sheathing for the new exterior layer. Trim DetailDue to the mass of the structure, we decided to use two different materials to add visual interest and proportion to the large surfaces of the front and sides of the house. We used stucco on the first floor and horizontal lap siding for the top story. We also came up with a custom trim design that added a nice touch to frame the windows and doors.
