We hired GenPro to build a 600 sqft addition on our home in Tukwila. The project began in March and was promised to be completed by end of July. It is now end of September and the project is not even close to completed. We lived in a hotel for 4 weeks through all of September to give GenPro extra time to finish the project, since we had to leave our temporary living situation at the end of August. We did this in good faith, believing they would make significant effort to get us into our home. Instead, minimal work was done and most days no one showed up at all. We hadn't even passed framing inspection at the end of the 4 weeks. We are now living in the original portion of our house with no heat. GenPro continues to ignore our phone calls and not show up. We've had to let the inspector in 3 times because no one from GenPro was here. The broken promises are constant. I strongly recommend not hiring this contractor. They do great work, but it's clear they've taken on more projects than they can handle, and instead of admitting their mistake, they completely drop the ball on our project and repeatedly lie about timelines and intentions. I followed Marco Angelino at GenPro on Instagram for months. After researching his business I decided to hire him to remodel 2 bathrooms for labor only at a cost of $19,592. Work began on July 08, 2020. To make a long story short and unbeknownst to me, he didn’t pull permits (he claims he thought I had pulled them but he covered up the walls and floors before the electrical could be inspected), he used an unlicensed plumber, used an unlicensed electrician (illegal in the state of WA) and used a sub contractor with a suspended license who didn’t specialize in tile. He later claimed that this guy was his employee. The first tile job was so bad (he attempted to fix it 3 times) that it finally had to be completely torn down. After firing Marco, he entered my home on camera without my permission and then tried extorting $7000 from me. He was reported to WA State L&I and the WA State Attorney General. He had no issue lying to both of them, claiming he didn’t put in the plumbing and electrical and even went as far as to say that I was intoxicated. Thankfully videos, photos, texts and emails don’t lie. If you do choose to hire him, protect yourself. Do not give him large sums of money up front. Demand posted permits. Demand a list of subcontractors before the job starts. Check the subs licenses on WA State L&I. Demand plumbing and electrical inspections. Demand you receive a disclosure statement. Put a lien release in your contract and demand lien releases when the job is completed. One last thing; put ALL communication in writing with photos as Marco will deny conversations, gaslight and try to change the narrative. Protect yourself as this contractor’s ethics and morals are void. If you research him on WA L&I you will find that he is not the licensed General Contractor. The GC listed is someone who is no longer affiliated with this company. That makes Marco nothing short of a handy man. Marco will respond to this review saying that he “thought” I had pulled permits, that I had a handy man do the plumbing and electrical (yes, him and his unlicensed workers!) and he will then offer to come and finish the job. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO GET A REMODEL JOB DONE QUIT LOOKING RIGHT NOW !!!!!!! With all respect, these guys did an amazing job remodeling my two bathrooms upstairs and kitchen. My wife loved the tile job and so did I... I am a really small detail person and do not satisfy myself only with the looks of the job. therefore, I grabbed my tape measure and started to count the space between tile's. IT WAS A PERFECT 1/16 SEPARATION BETWEEN THE TILES. Marco and Erick followed, what I call a perfect pattern. Unfortunately, Porch does not offer the option to upload a picture of the final project. Now... Same work ethic and result for the kitchen downstairs. For the first time in my marriage, Ella is happy and exited to cook her famous recipes. COMPLETELY WORTH EVERY DOLLAR THEY CHARGED ME. I am pretty sure the value of my house went up after I invested in the remodel. And all of these wouldn't be possible without the knowledge of Erick and his helper Marco.
