One Star is far too generous and Keith Clausen, was recommended by his brother, Brian, a local plumber. This company deserves 0 stars or less. Shoddy workmanship and unfulfilled promises are only part of the story. This business operates on a cash only basis, which I sadly learned after the first phase of the work in my crawlspace was completed. Because I had a second issue in a relatively short span of time, I called Keith Clausen, of KC Universal Services a second time. He told me that he was going to repair a sewer leak from the clean out to the underfooting and that would solve the problem. After paying for the second visit to my home I asked for complete invoices detailing the work done, the dates of service, his complete address and business license number. The invoices were not only incomplete, but they also contained incorrect information and the IL license number that Mr. Clausen supplied does not exist. Additionally, Mr. Clausen makes promises that are not fulfilled - he left my crawl space liner a muddy mess and promised to come back and replace it - NOT; he also said that he was going to replace my Sump pump at no charge - NOT. So, my gut told me that something wasn't right. I just learned that the majority of the work done by KC Universal Services needs to be redone. So, not only have I paid over $2,000 to KC, I now will have to pay to have the work redone and done right. So, I would urge anyone considering using KC Universal Services to proceed with extreme caution. Shame on me for being trusting. Please do your due diligence before agreeing to use this company.
