I would like to share my terrible experience with Hilton Design, a"contracting" company from Batavia, Illinois. DO NOT HIRE THEM! I hired them to remodel a ½ bathroom and closet. Before they started the bathroom, they requested 60% of the final estimate to be paid, so they can buy the needed materials. Believing that this was a professional company, naively, without doing my research of course, it seemed to make sense. I agreed and paid them the desired amount. The owners of this company, Kevin and Destinee Alena Hilton told me that this process would take no longer than 3 weeks. Not all stories have happy endings, and unfortunately after a month and some excuses later,the bathroom wasn't even halfway done. In the meantime, they started on the closet (keep in mind the bathroom still wasn't finished), they ripped the door off and threw everything that was in the closet, into my garage and made nothing but a mess. Unfortunately, I paid half for that project as well. After 6 weeks of "destroy, build, destroy", they asked for the remaining balance of the bathroom and ensured that they would finish within the next few days. They never came back and after I mentioned these concerns with them, while also mildly threatening them with posting a mere bad review they messaged me with and I quote, "As for the threats on defamation of character. . .we will be inclined to file a report with the cook county recorders office for a mechanic Lein that will be filed at your address as well as a report for 'theft of services' and 'theft' of any items not returned." Speaking of theft, I paid them to practically destroy what I wanted remodeled instead, and on top of that, they sent me another invoice with added costs that I NEVER agreed to or knew of. According to them, I shouldn’t be complaining, since they “weren’t making any money” on this job because of the “killer deal” I was given… SIX THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS later: I have a hole in the wall where a closet door used to be, a bathroom covered in grout along with uneven tiles and a wallet with a dent in it. Now I have to pay another company again, to fix their mistakes. If I listed them all, I could write a book. I have evidence of all these claims and found similar reviews when it was unfortunately too late.

Hilton Designs AKA Hilton Contractors (Kevin Hilton & Destinee Alena Hilton) out of Batavia, IL was hired to remodel an already finished basement. Was to paint walls, ceiling, add wood vinyl floor, build bar, paint existing cabinets and pour epoxy counter tops. They ruined our basement and we have since hired 2 NEW contractors to repair their work. Countertops did not CURE (still sticky), paint drips on brand new floor, walls, windows, personal items. BROKE sink, did not know how to install a sink. When they painted they did NOT cover up old nail holes. Painted cabinets have epoxy dripped on them, cabinets feel like sand paper, and hardware is NOT aligned. The cut our brand new floor and did not replace it. Left Long nails pointing out of new counters and did not pour cement correctly on counters. They are sloppy and left our basement and bathroom a mess. They are refusing to pay us back ($5k in damage as of today), I not only paid in full but gave money throughout the process because they begged. They are also posting pictures of my house on their Facebook page, Hilton Designs without my consent. AVOID them as they are scammers and I wish I would have done my homework and read all the reviews online. We will be taking them to court but PLEASE do NOT hire them!

Hilton Designs did the painting of the cabinets and backsplash on this project. I GM and designed the entire project myself. I had my own contractors for countertops, flooring, electrical, plumbing, painting walls, and carpentry work and yet he took credit for the entire remodel on his social media posts. . I worked with 7 contractors for all different tasks. Hilton Design is the only one that did not complete their work ( which is not detailed and has flaws) and time management was atrocious. He made "promises" on the quality of work but did not deliver. He never asked for permission to post pictures of my kitchen and I've asked him to take them off since he did not complete the work. He has not followed my request or responded. So unfortunately I had to write this review. I don't wish ill will on Kevin but just want to warn people if you don't want headaches and have to redo work you've paid for already, rethink going with this company.

We Hired Kevin and Destinee to Remodel our kitchen in Geneva. I am happy to say out of all the contractors I have used in the past, I am grateful I have met these two! They did a more than good job on my kitchen and even threw in a light fixture for me with no cost. That is what I call going above and beyond customer service.
