SL Home Services' goal is to provide customers with top quality work at an affordable price. After spending several years working for others doing landscaping, painting and other odd jobs, Andrew decided to create a company that could fulfill the labor intensive needs of customers at a fair price. So, in 2010, Student Labor was born. Andrew knocked on doors that winter to promote the business, shoveled driveways, passed out flyers and put up signs to generate buzz around his young business. He helped 12 students pay for their tuitions by employing them throughout the summer. The business ended up being a success that first year. As a result, Andrew took web design at NCCC in order to increase his ability to market his company. The following spring he hit the ground running by once again passing out the flyers, giving discounts to returning customers, putting up the signs, and adding more skilled intensive services such as powerwashing and deck staining. As the summers passed Student Labor gradually became more skilled and refined. Andrew has taken up architecture and met older, more experienced contractors that became his mentors. They preached good old fashioned hard work and fair prices. Step by step, Andrew has learned skills in custom painting, carpentry, drywall, and interior remodeling to add to the company's skill set. As a result, the name Student Labor was not doing the business justice any more, so it has been changed to SL Home Services.
