Efficiency Upgrades for Apartment Building | Jan 2014 | Taking advantage of the Arlington Initiative to Rethink Energy (AIRE) program, EH Commercial helped this community save a projected 11,836 kwh/year, or $1,774 a year in cost and energy savings. The exact work involved included replacing 4 existing 250W wall packs above exterior doors with 50W LED fixtures, replacing 7 existing 400W rooftop wallpacks with 85W LED fixtures, relamping and reballasting 8 interior linear fluorescent fixtures with T8 lamps and ballasts, and retrofitting 9 incandescent fixtures with screw-in CFL lamps. LED Lighting Upgrade for Townhomes | Nov 2013 | Great Hope Homes is a 104 two-story townhouse apartment complex nestled in a beautiful wooded lot near New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. During the initial lighting survey, EH Commercial identified excellent opportunities to save money and improve the quality of the exterior and interior common space lighting for their property. After confirming rebate amounts with Pepco, EH Commercial made these specific improvements. For the exterior lighting of the buildings, 80 wall-packs were replaced with new super high efficiency LED lights. On the residential buildings, (72) 200W fixtures were replaced with 26W LEDs, while on the community center, (8) 100W were replaced with 13W LEDs. Inside the community center, T12 linear fluorescent tubes were replaced with T8s and occupancy sensors were installed to automatically turn off lights when the space was unoccupied. In addition, exit signs were upgraded to LED units, and motion sensor power strips were installed to control office equipment in the leasing office. The new LED fixtures not only reduce costs, they also provide better clearer lighting at night. This results in a safer, more comfortable experience for the residents. Maintenance and replacement costs are be reduced. Parking Garage Metroplace LED Lighting Upgrade | Oct 2013 | This multifamily community is just a few minutes walk from the Branch Ave. Metro Station on the Green Line of the Washington DC metro. During the initial survey, EH Commercial identified excellent opportunities to save money and improve the quality of the lighting for the propertys 5-story garage. After confirming rebate amounts with Pepco, we replaced all 83 of the 175W metal halide canopy fixtures with 56W LED fixtures, and all 25 of their existing exit signs with 2W LED units. Above stairway and elevator entrances, we replaced fifteen 175W metal halide wallpacks with 26W LED units. On the garage roof, the 12 400W metal halide pole mounted fixtures were replaced with 90W LED fixtures. The project took about a week. The new LED fixtures not only significantly reduce utility bills, they provide better, clearer lighting at night. This results in a safer, more comfortable experience for residents. Maintenance and replacement costs are be reduced. Project Manager Ben Butler, said that immediately upon installation, the residents went to tell him how much they liked the new lighting. The residents have been raving about the lighting all weekend. Everyone is real happy about the work, so thank you!
