Great work from Dan. He spent a day at our new house doing a variety of things including furniture assembly, painting and mirror hanging, grill assembly, etc. nice and professional and will use him again.

DSM Contractors took a 79% deposit for a porch on Sept. 10, 2018 and never secured a permit or started the work. November 2018 was the last time I saw Dan St. Mary. He had been doing a kitchen and bath for me and never finished that either. I am considering litigation since the amount he owes me is so large. I was to be reimbursed for materials I purchased but that never happened. I am senior citizen and I fell like a victim of DSM Contractors. I wish I had never met Dan St. Mary.

Dan has always been very responsive to work on both big and small projects. He has good ideas to share and I've been especially impressed in dealing with on the electrical issues in our old home.

Electrical outlet replacement | Mar 2019 | This is a typical outlet which needs to be replaced when a third center prong is not present. The plug in cord is lose or just falls out or when signs of cracking are seen on the face of the receptacle. Its is against the law for anyone other person than a licensed electrician to make repairs or installations to an electrical system. The number 3 cause of fire in the USA is electrical and is usually caused by lack of experience and knowledge of making safe installations. The electrical Code in Chicago is over 1000 pages of text referring to the means and methods of installations to make the use of electric safe for all. | $45 | Chicago, IL
Replace screw type fuse panel w/ New 100A panel | Apr 2018 | We removed the old screw in type fuses in the rear of the homes basement and installed a new 100A 120/240V circuit breaker panel. We also installed a new dedicated grounding system to the water main at the front of the house. This project was done for the sale of the home as part of the buyers request. | $800 | Chicago, IL
Lighting remodel | Nov 2017 | The kitchen is a cherry cabinet and was in need of some spuceing up so we added a nice cherry crown mold finished to match the cabinets. We added some under cabinet lighting using xenon fixtures with Hi Low settings and installed on a dimmer. We also installed some backsplash tile and helped get the new granite top designed and installed removing a 2 tier countertop lowering some outlets and relocating them to the underside of the new lower overhang.. We also installed new can lighting in the 15 foot vaulted ceiling. We installed a new TV wall mount covering a cubby for a small TV which is now the equipment location. The fireplace got a new stone wrap for a fresh style., | $12k | Chicago, IL
Relocate service and up grade 800A 120/240V | Jul 2017 | We had to provide a new load calculation for the 7 unit building the owner installed electric water heaters and A/C for each unit.. The load calculation came out to 650 Amps the building was running on 200 amps up till the point of adding the additional water heater and A/C units. The issue with the relocation was because the new equipment would not fit in the old location. We had to install a trough in the old panel location and run pipes circuits from each apartment unit to the new circuit breaker panels. | $17k | Chicago, IL
Custom Home | Nov 2006 | This is a custom home I built for a friend. The client lived in a small old wood frame home that had a low ceiling in the basement and would have been very costly to renovate. We suggested building new due to the requirements of the renovations. Higher ceiling in basement for the future family room. So we knocked down there existing home and built this 4500 SF custom home. We installed custom cabinets throughout with mahogany veneer hardwood floors. The master suite with walk in shower and custom whirlpool tub in custom deck. Radiant floor heat installed under the tile floor in the master bath. walk down the central hall to find the pocket doors which enter the dinning room which is separated by a 2sided fireplace from the living room. A wide central staircase rises open from the basement to the second floor. | $480k | Skokie, IL
