So whether you're looking for a warm, subtle color - or the latest New York City specialty finishes - we can service your needs. ===== Hi, I'm Christopher Schultz, a Master's degree-educated former Environmental Scientist who finally had enough of the corporate life and decided to pursue a creative passion sparked over 25 years ago. Please take afew minutes to learn a little about our company. It was 1986 and I was a teenager looking for a way to pay for gas money, so I got a job at a small, custom-home construction company in Gettysburg. My tasks ran the gamut: from carpenter assistant to insulation installer, ditch digger to demolition man. One day I was left alone in New Oxford to prep and paint a porch. I had never painted anything before, but the boss said it was "no big deal, just do this and this and this and you're done." Once he left I set to work on my latest menial task and earning my gas money. Slowly, I began to realize that I actually enjoyed what I was doing. After scraping and sanding off the old paint flecks, priming and applying the new paint, I stood back and admired my work. "That looks really great!" I said to myself. Then the homeowner happened to come around the building. He examined the porch, turned around and then thanked me for doing such a good job. I beamed...and have been painting off and on ever since. I especially enjoy the look on a client's face when he or she cansee the final result. There' just something special about taking an old, plain white wall and turning it into an exquisite surface - a showpiece, even - whether it be with a decorative finish or a suburb traditional paint job. When I finally decided to start my own company, I knew my experience, creativity and meticulousness would help me stand out among the crowd of paint companies in the Central Pennsylvania area. INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR PAINTING I've gained practical experience over the years working for high-end residential painting contractors. This is where I rubbed elbows with the "old guys" who showed me how to do it right and, well, made fun of me when I did it wrong. Whether it's outside on an extension ladder or inside on a stepladder, we've pretty much done it all. FAUX AND DECORATIVE PAINTING I'm always searching for new decorative finishes. I've attended hands-on classes at Dundean Studios, one of the most prestegious specialty and decorative arts working studios in the country: (Founder of Dundean Studios, Dean Sickler is a heavyweight in the industry and provides expert instruction in advanced and professional-level classes in the decorative arts, faux finishand specialty-painting fields. Dundean Studios has 28 different workshops -more than any other school in the country - and is located only minutes awayfrom New York City. Mr. Sickler has executed numerous decorative and art commissions across North America, has exhibited and demonstrated his artwork around the world and is well-respected within the field of professional decorative painting. Some of his most recent commissions include marbling columns at the U.S. Capitol Visitor's Center in Washington D.C.) FINALLY We don't take smoke breaks and keep our my music to ourselves. We respect your property and will do our best to keep it paint-, mud-, dirt-, and candy-wrapper free. Having a contractor around is an inconvenience, so wealways keep that in mind by minimizing any disturbances. (But that doesn't mean you won't hear us apologize every once in a while anyway.)
