R & K Flooring

R & K Flooring was started in August 2000, by Robert and Kathy Lanham. Prior to becoming our own little "mom and pop" business, Robert had been in the construction industry, and wore many "hats". His hardwood flooring installation experience is over 22 years and his tile installation over 5 years. He has working knowledge and experience in painting, sheetrock hanging/finishing, and roofing. He has built, from scratch, 4 decks and has the talent to make shelving units, raised plant beds, end tables, etc. He is, in many respects, an all around "handyman". When we started our company, we had 5 builders/contractors, that we provided hardwood flooring installation for, that were our main customers. Within the first 8 months, our business expanded and by the end of our first year, we had over 30 builders. We still service many of our builders, that were not affected by the economy, and can provide references. Kathy has always been the "customer service" side of R & K. She started her career in the secretarial field, but found that she liked being around people more than sitting at a desk. She then went into the retail industry, management at a clothing store, but when they wanted her at the corporate office, she thanked them, but bowed out and went into automobile sales. She was introduced to the hardwood flooring industry shortly thereafter and, as they say, the rest is history. We pride ourselves in putting the customer first. If Robert is not "happy" with the way the flooring looks, he will "fix" what he feels is wrong before he says the job is complete. We have, in the almost 15 years as a company, had one complaint, and that was regarding the actual flooring, not the installation. Robert lives by this motto: "If I won't like it if it were in my home, then I don't expect my customer to like it.", and that is how we have been blessed with repeat customers and referrals.
