They stole over 10k from us in illegal rent overages. Never disclosed their property was a rent control building against local laws. Gave us an illegal rent from start on the lease and several illegal rent increases since. Buildings are infested with roaches and mice. Any repairs have to be reported to the city to get addressed. Fire code violations abound including not having working fire alarms in common areas. Issues with heat and hot water are consistent. Rude and abusive, once had to fight and threaten with police action due to intended illegal lock outs. They intimidate long term tenants to get them to move out so they can "rennovate" the units with poorly intalled "upgrades." They never use licensed contractors, licensed plumbers, or licensed electricians. They are crooked and awful in every sense of the word. If you've googled them to try to do due dilligence, take this warning and run. We've had to engage attorneys to seek justice for the years of theft and they fought us every step of the way. Their attorney is stupid and does not know the law but will attack you personall instead of making a valid case. TLDR: Data Realty is a criminal organization and they don't deserve a dime of your money.

They have been trying to unlawfully evict me since they took over my building 3 years ago Stealing tenants security deposits on a regular basis Refuses to accept your rent for months then files false court eviction summonses repeatedly double and triple billing you for rent Denial of services ie conditions in bldg so bad it puts you in the hospital Chases you with lawyer and frivilious court so bad you cant work All the city agencies and court are broken The property manager is not the owner. The owner is Muhammad Shahid and his address is listed publically in hudson county register at 112 river street. He has multiple shell llcs and tries to hide If you are having a problem with these people go straight to coucilman Solomon office and the waterfront project. If you need repairs call resident response and ask to have inspector Richardson come and for health dept issues like rats ask for john ross

Been a tenant in a building managed by Data Realty for about 3 months. Since day one we have been waiting... to have a window replaced (one bedroom is entirely exposed to outside temperatures and is unusable causing my toddler to spend every night in my bedroom), to have the battery replaced for the smoke detector, been waiting for the FILTHY vents (bathroom & kitchen) to be cleaned that was left my previous tenant. We also.... have a strange weight pressing down on one of the ceiling tiles in the bedroom, once had no lock or knob on front door for the building for 4 days and was only reconciled when I called and threatened to call a lawyer, the heat is BLASTED, and the hot water doesn't work. Overall, I knew it was moving into an old building but didn't realize it was managed like a slum. I hope this review puts some wheels in motion. I'd love a 9 volt battery, to start.
