I hired Mitch to do some deck work, stain as well as remove some planters and replace some joists on my 750 sq. Foot deck. He stained my deck when it was still wet and with rain in the forecast that day. I expressed my concern about it and he said it was fine that it’s dry enough and the stain drys fast. He finished staining the deck and it rained hard about an hour after he finished which made large bubbles all over the deck. Once it dried the next day the stain was bubbled and cloudy. He sent his partner over to look at it snd he removed some of the bubbles and offered to put down another coat but wasn’t sure when he could fit me in. 2 months goes by with no contact from Mitch. I text Mitch to see when he is going to put down another coat. He said maybe next week, a week goes by no contact. I text again and he says maybe next week and again nothing. It’s been 3 months now and still nothing. At this point I’m done - I will stain it myself. His work was shoddy and lazy, my wife and I spent about two hours doing touch up. I would not hire this guy - $4500 later I will be staining my own deck to fix his work.

Mitch and partner, Bill, repaired and refinished our two redwood decks. Although the initial estimate was based on refinishing and some very minor repairs, the decks, upon closer inspection required more extensive repair due to ledger board rot. Mitch and Bill explained the safety reasons for the additional ledger support and kept us posted throughout the process. The cost, due to the more extensive repairs, was reasonable, and the life of the decks was extended sufficiently to allow us to budget for replacement in the future. Both Mitch and Bill worked consistently to finish the job and were neat and respectful of our home. I would not hesitate to use Mitch and Bill's services again or to recommend them for any deck work.
