ZEFER Contracting, INC. is a company that developed as a result of the merger of two established contracting companies; Holmes Property Solutions, LLC & Top Dawg Contracting, LLC. The owners are Sean Holmes and Ryan Lemonds. After spending years in the contracting, remodeling and storm damage businesses, we both feel that there is something lacking from the industry. What's lacking is true customer care! Treating each home and project as if it were our own home or project. Too many "fly-by-night" contractors have come into the industry and diluted the pool of quality contractors. By taking the extra time to prep each job, show up on time, have the work done professionally, in a timely manner and on budget; we feel that we can set the bar of expectations much higher for contracting in Georgia. Zefer Contracting, Inc. is one of the most deceitful, underhanded companies I've had the unfortunate opportunity to have to deal with. They prey on those who are in precarious positions when their homes are damaged. Without my permission or knowledge, Zefer contacted my insurance company to get the claim amount. For whatever reason, even though i opened the claim, NOT Zefer, my insurance company gave them the full amount (which needed to cover several personal items outside of just renovation/remodel/repair). That is another issue I took up w/my insurance company - regardless, when I asked Zefer for a quote for the work that needed to get done, they simply provided a one page blanket contract stating they get ALL OF THE INSURANCE PROCEEDS, and that they would get the work done immediately. Thank goodness, even in my plight to try and get my home back livable, I did not sign it. They refused to give a quote outside of the full insurance claim amount and then continuously harassed me and pressured me to sign the contract. It got to a point, I had to make written, formal request for them to not contact me. Zefer preys on those who need repairs done on their homes quickly to get back to some normalcy. They are underhanded and their business practices are unethical. There are too many reputable companies to use to get work done on your home(s)....Zefer is not one of them. I would never recommend this company to anyone under any circumstance.

On 10/8/16, after Hurricane Matthew, we had damage to the inside of our home (ceilings) due to the roof leaking. Zefer Contracting Inc. came to provide a free estimate and convinced us to file with our insurance company, and even made the claim on our behalf. Our house was built in 1973 and the popcorn ceiling texture is asbestos containing (confirmed through lab test results). We informed Zefer Contracting Inc. of this information before they began to perform the work. They informed us that they would supplement the insurance company for it later. They said it was not a problem and they would hire a sub-contractor that specialized in asbestos removal and take all EPA standard precautions. We were advised that we did not need to leave our home due to the precautions they would take. The work began on 11/19/16 and we were required to pay in CASH. The first half at the beginning of the project and the last half at the end when the work was "to our satisfaction." On 11/23/16, we discovered money, personal items, and a gun missing from our home which was stolen by Zefer Contracting sub-contractors. Zefer Contracting, Sean Holmes (owner) openly admitted to not background checking their employees. We filed a police report on Thanksgiving Day as a result. At that time I shared my concerns with Sean Holmes that no precautions were taken and our home was covered in a layer of dust which I was upset about due to knowing that the dust likely contained asbestos. Sean Holmes tried to make me feel better and placed an air filter in our home for 3 days before removing it and having a second sub-contracting company come in to work on our home which started back up 11/28/16. Due to my underlying concerns, I had the dust in our home tested on 12/7/16 by a professional licensed asbestos inspector. We received the results on 12/9/16 that the air quality and wipe samples for asbestos were positive. We were encouraged to leave our home immediately, and to stay in a hotel, which we did. We have been displaced from our home as a result and continue to be. We are required to have a professional asbestos abatement company come in to clear before we can move back into our home. This is an extremely costly process and takes 10 days. In addition to the theft and asbestos contamination that we were exposed to, Zefer Contracting Inc. employees damaged the paint in 4 of our rooms, tearing it off the wall, and also tore the wallpaper in our dining room because they used masking tape. None of these repairs have been completed and our house remains unfinished. This has truly been a nightmare from the day Zefer Contracting Inc. came into our lives on 10/27/16. They will continue to be a nightmare as we have been recommended to receive chest x-rays and physical exams yearly to ensure that we have no side effects from the asbestos exposure. Sean Holmes, the owner, has avoided communicating with us and no-showed meetings. They have no care for our health or for their disastrous work which has results in health concerns and displacement. They still think we owe them money!!! This company is housed in Georgia and has an office in NC. They are not authorized in the state of NC to perform work. They are not licensed asbestos abatement specialists. They never got a permit to remove the asbestos and have no regard for what they have exposed our family to. This is disheartening. This company and their employees are unprofessional, money hungry, negligent, performing work illegally, jeopardizing consumers safety, and should not be in business!!!!!! Do not use this company. Look at other reviews. They have been called "STORM CHASERS" and feed off people's vulnerability!

Zefer recently replaced my damaged roof. I dealt with their rep Lee Moore. Lee was very professional to deal with and I have very POSITIVE experience working with him. He helped me with my insurance too so I almost didn't do anything. Everything that needs to be done Lee did them all.

Very POSITIVE experience working with Josh Greeson and ZEFER Contracting. Being a home owner for 30 years , I have never put a claim in on my homeowners insurance until now. Josh made the experience a breeze, answering all my questions in a timely and professional manner. I had Josh from Zefer Contracting inspect my roof and passed on his findings to my insurance company which ended up replacing my roof. The whole process was painless and the finished product, my roof , turned out beautiful. Zefer Contracting delivered on all thing discussed before my roofing project started and went above and beyond to deliver a perfect finished product.
