Not a great experience. First day was a window from 7am to 12pm, he did not show up until 2pm. He called twice to say he was running late. I had a somewhat small job that we agreed to a price and he said he would start work Saturday early morning. I got a call at 9AM Saturday saying he wanted to start in the afternoon. This was supposed to be a full day's work so he would have been working until 830PM. I agreed and he said he would be there a bit before 12 and surprise me by being early. He showed up at 12:15 so not early, and 15 minutes late. I purchased the siding however he said he would bring the backing board and stop at the store. When he arrived he had not done this. I let him know that I had concerns because he has shown up late 3 times, and hadn't followed through on anything he said he would. However I ran to the cash machine as he requested 50 percent down even though I had paid for all the materials. I can understand money upfront to start if the contractor is providing materials but I had purchased everything, and he still wanted 50 percent down. I said ok and went and pulled money from the cash machine. When I returned he had left the job and decided he wasn't going to do it. I called him to confirm he decided to walk away and he said yes. When I told him he was very unprofessional due to him leaving, and not following through with anything he said he would, he had the nerve to say I was slandering him. I explained my position, and that it's not slander if its true. He also had the nerve to say he lost confidence in me because I lost confidence in him. Although I had done everything I said I would, he had done nothing including showing up late 3 times, constantly pushing back start times, and not bringing materials he said he would get. I also asked how long he had been doing this on his own with his own company and he said he's been doing it a long time. As I look it looks like the company is less then a year old. Elton has a lot to learn about keeping your promises, and showing up on time. Also when you question him he say's he has more important work to do, and that he has bigger jobs which is completely unprofessional and not something you should ever bring up to your customers. What you are doing with other people should be no concern for your customer. You should keep promises and be punctual. If you can't do that then why would anyone assume you would do decent work or complete the task? Elton needs to work on under promising and over delivering.
