| Ann M's Deck | Jul 2011 | This was a complete tear out and replace of an existing deck. all of the joists and decking were rotten. there was termite damage, and the hand rails had begun to fall off. I removed all of the original deck except for the cedar posts and main support beam. framing and decking were replaced with Pine non-treated lumber 2x8 for framing and joists and 2x6 for decking. All lumber materials were primed and painted with Valspar Porch and Floor paint before installation. everything was fastened with grip rite decking screws, 3" for all framing and 2.5" for decking. The outer frame was also attached to the post using 5/16" x 3" lag bolts. when all of the assembly was completed there was a final painting done to be sure everything was sealed properly. I also suggested that she get an exterminator to take care of the possibility of termites in the future. | $5k | O Fallon, MO |
