Green Side Renovations

I contacted the owner through this site, he came to see the project location and we agreed on using oak veneer plywood with studs he said he would put on the back of it. I received an invoice for 50% of the project cost which I paid promptly. He told me that he would complete the project at his home and bring it over when done. I agreed, it made sense. Then I got photographs of half-finished project which was using knotty pine instead of oak veneer plywood. I wrote to him, then called him to ask for clarification. He said he thought it would be better this way. I disagreed and told him to cancel the project and refund my money. Among his yelled out responses, he also swore at me and hung up. Not reliable, not business-like, not polite. I will not recommend him for any kind of work. On top of that, Porch.com did not stand behind their guarantee despite the fact that the contractor did not follow the agreed upon terms. In my final reply to Porch.com, I said "if you order a tweed jacket and the tailor makes a plaid one, do you consider that partial completion?" I never received a reply to that from Porch.com either. I can back up everything I said with screen captures, e-mails, and posts here. This is not a good service on more than one level. Never again!
