Thank you to Mr. Alston and your awesome crew for a job well done. Excellent customer service, helpful design ideals and patience with my many changes throughout the project. Can't wait to start my next project of our outdoor kitchen area.

In June 2016, I selected PJA, Inc through Thumbtack. I had Paul Alston, the owner, come to my home to look at what I needed and send me a quote. The quote was for a 250+-foot retaining wall and for brick repair around the front of my home. He showed me pictures of previous walls he had built and masonry work he had done. Mr Alston sent me a quote which was approximately $5500 to include materials (blocks, bricks, fill gravel, fill dirt, etc). He found a wall block and gave me the information so I could purchase these directly which I did for approximately $1100. He deducted that from the amount I would owe, bringing it to $4430. He required a 50% deposit to secure the date and for him to secure materials. I issued him a check on June 22, 2016 for him to begin on June 27, 2016. He cashed said check, however was unable to start on the promised date due to overbooking and began three days later. It became clear quickly Mr. Alston and crew had no idea how to build the wall. They came with almost no supplies. After a few days and my husband looking over the shoddy work, they came to an agreement that Mr. Alston would stop at an agreed upon point, but do the brick work up front. Upon completion we gave Mr Alston another $1115, taking $1000 off initial quote. As my husband got into completing the work, he found many of the blocks were placed upside down not in the lock position. We requested a refund from Mr Alston who instead agreed to come back and fix the wall which he attempted to do. Never actually completing the work or acquiring materials. We invested an additional $1200 in fill dirt and gravel Mr Alston failed to provide per his quote. Since this time, we've had other professionals out and Mr Alston has built an unsafe wall, with risk of collapse by not using cloth barriers every two levels as is the industry norm for safety reasons. We are now faced with tearing down the entire wall AGAIN to the tune of $6000. I filed a complaint in jan 2017 with BBB. Mr Alston offered his apologies and a $2000 refund. Today is April 24, 2017 and after many attempts to get an ETA on when he will send our refund, and receiving blow offs, we're now forced to take legal action.
