Today a vehicle with Franco's corporate identification -- a red pickup truck -- cut suddenly and aggressively into my lane, forcing me to jam on my brakes and nearly causing a collision. The incident occurred at 12:40 PM while traveling northward on Piedmont Avenue just north of Dwight Way in Berkeley. As traffic proceeded northward on Piedmont and onto Gayley Road, I was traveling behind the truck. On the long portion between South Drive and Hearst Avenue, I was driving at the speed limit (25 MPH) while the truck was pulling ahead, driving at least 10 MPH faster than the speed limit. This is a street that runs through the university campus and is heavily traveled by pedestrians.
