Living Room and Dining with Cathedral Ceiling

Jan 2013

This living room and dining room combo is the perfect display of modern construction. Structural spaces like this can be found in Suffolk's new condominium community (The Residences at Hampton Roads Crossing). The unique architectural design of the ceiling in this particular model creates a real sense of height, especially now that the walls have been painted. We had the pleasure of painting several models just like this one. Each of them were uniquely decorated, but this home stood out the most with its strong contrast between the ceiling and wall color. The customer allowed us to approach the vaulted ceiling as we saw fit since their neighbor's ceiling was painted with the same color as the walls by another painting company. We welcomed the challenge so we cut-in every angle of the ceiling to make it pop more. It was definitely worth it. Room size/dimensions: Living room 17 ft. x 14 ft. x 18 ft. (at highest pt.) - Dining room 12 ft. x 12 ft. Painted surfaces: Walls only Paint Colors: Sherwin-Williams (Silvermist SW7621) - (Kilim Beige SW6106) Extra cost features: Accent wall in dining room Turnaround time: 3 work days

Master Bedroom Paint

Jan 2011

Paint included in cost amount. This project was one of our favorites. This master bedroom demonstrates one of the many styles of trey ceilings - featuring a stepped octagonal trey design. There are many creative ways to paint this type of ceiling. Notice how the crown molding and color contrast give the ceiling more depth while enhancing the three-dimensional effect. Other impressive features are the columns, arch, alcove and french doors. We initially anticipated this project would take longer to complete than the average bedroom of this size. We spent a good part of the job masking each window of the french doors on both sides before spraying them. Working out the details of the trey ceiling was tedious as well. Ultimately our goal was to deliver the customer an outstanding paint job and careful not to sacrifice quality for speed. Needless to say, the customer was extremely happy with this paint job. Room dimensions: 18 x 15 sq.ft. / alcove 9 x 12 sq.ft. Painted surfaces: Walls, Ceiling, Trim and Doors Extra cost features: Trey ceiling, Crown molding, French doors and Columns
