James did not purchase the materials when he assured us he had and then asked for more materials money due to price increase. He would not provide invoices for materials he did purchase while asking us to purchase $4,500 additional materials, most of which we didn’t need in the end. He opened our roof and the entrance to our basement in February. Spring rains filled our basement and rain down the inside of our living room. Our calls for assistance seemed to fall on deaf ears. When he did come to work, he arrived around 10:30 and left by 2:30. He always said he had a 3pm appt. We had paid him for materials and half the labor up front with the second half due upon job completion. The last time we saw him around the end of April, he sat at our dining room table and asked for some money from the back end and we gave him some! How stupid! He seemed very nice and sincere but he made a horrible mess of our job. He literally put our car siding ceilings in our new rooms but only had plastic covering the rafters and no roof. The ceiling got wet and the car siding warped and was ruined. I think he knew he had botched the whole job and was in a hole he couldn’t climb out of. If I could give him a negative 5 rating, I would. I just hope he isn’t out there doing this to someone else.
