Michael gave us a reasonable bid on some landscaping issues and building a shed. Although we were still waiting approval for our shed, we did have him help us with landscaping problems. I had had a heart issue last November which prevented me from taking care of landscaping, and added more to my husband’s plate as well. So it was a major help when Michael came and did the work needed, even though it took a few hours over 2 days to do so. We paid him more than he asked for and said we’d use him again. We recently called him and he said he'd come on Saturday, June 1st - between 8 & 10 am. When he did not show up, I contacted him through Porch and he said he was finishing up another job and needed to change cars before coming by. When 11 am came and went, and there was still no Michael, I called and told him it was getting too late because we had 5 to 6 hours worth of work for him, and asked if he could come a week later and he said yes. I followed up with him the Friday before he was supposed to come – and he said he’d be at our house between 8:30 and 9:30 am. We waited for him – 8:30 am came, 9:30 am came – 12:30 pm came – still no Michael and no phone call to explain when he’d show up. Part of running a good business and building trust with customers is showing up when you say you will, following up when you encounter a problem that keeps you from coming; not just brushing your customer off. Because Michael is unreliable, we will not be using him again.
