Before hiring S.B Williams Contracting I strongly urge you to read my experience. I do not recommend him whatsoever. He was very unprofessional in his work ethics and extremely childish. I hired Mr. Williams to build a second story deck and install two doors. The project was very slow at getting started. Overall it was supposed to take 3-4 weeks. After 2 weeks, we finally had a frame for the deck. Mr. Williams started to become harder to get a hold of as well. He continuously had other jobs come up that he would put before ours. He put the doors in on a Friday, but forgot insulation for around them and said he would be back. 3 days later I called because it was about to rain. He shows up with no insulation, and instead starts pulling it from inside of my siding and shoving it around the edge of the doors. The deck was moving slow and he was only showing up once or twice a week. The end of week 5 is when everything took a turn for the worse. I caught Mr. Williams outside fishing in my lake. I was so shocked I didn't even know what to say. Mr. Williams quickly handed his pole to his workers and started unloading the truck to start working. At the 6-week mark, I receive a text from Mr. Williams asking for $3,000 early because he has put out more than he has received and payroll is coming up. I looked over the contract which stated payments to be made as $1,000 down payment, 50% at the beginning, and the other 50% upon completion. We were way behind on schedule, but he didn't have too much left to finish. I replied with wanting to stick to the contract. He replies with a childish response of "well I don't see your screen doors in the contract so that'll be an extra $250" the screen doors took 6 screws to install and I told him I could install them myself even though he had no issue with them prior. Two days after he asked for money he was at the house working again. I got home and asked him about the concrete showing between the carpet and the door he installed. He replied with "oh that's not my problem. It's not in the contract." He brought up needing money again. After a few minutes of trying to talk to him I walked away. I drew up a new contract with everything that still needed done. He agreed to the terms and I gave him the money early. 3 days later he showed up at 4:30pm to finish our project. I had evening plans so I stepped outside to ask if he needed anything. He said "yeah, my money". I asked him if I could look over the deck when he was done and pay him the next day. He immediately started yelling that I was playing games with his money and he would be taking me to court if I didn't pay him now. He was still working. I tried asking why it was unreasonable to have a day to make sure the job was complete, but he would turn the saw on every time I tried to talk. I left the house furious. He began texting me and threatening to involve my commanding officer as well as taking me to court. I got back home to look over what he finished. There was a lot of little things he didn't complete, but I was exhausted from dealing with him. He sent his wife over to collect his money. I hope I never have to deal with a contractor who acted as immature and unprofessional as Mr. Williams did.
