Hooper Builders has received the Builders League of South Jersey's "Best Green Built Community", "Smart Growth", and "Builder of the Year" awards. John Hooper together with John Heffron constructed the first "green-built" house in Sea Isle City and Cape May County under the National Association of Home Builders green guidelines. John Hooper John is a veteran of the building, development, and real estate profession for the past thirty years, and a pioneer in the field of "Green Home-Building". John's expertise in alternative, efficient energy solutions is anchored in his vast experience constructing homes with environmentally responsible materials and processes, and evaluating the energy efficiency of existing homes. Recognized as a leader in his field, John was invited to present at the 2009 New Jersey Clean Energy Conference and Leadership Awards where he spoke about the economic and environmental value of introducing new, innovative products, such as solar technology, to the home service industry John has served as Chairman of the New Jersey Builders Association's Green Building Committee, President of The Builders League of South Jersey, and volunteered as General Contractor to the non-profit organization MEND to construct and environmentally friendly eight unit housing development for low to moderate income households. John is a National Association of Home Builders Certified Green Building Professional, and Building Performance Institute Certified Building Analysis and Envelope Professional. John Heffron John is a graduate of Rutgers University with an AB in Business & Economics and MBA in Finance & Accounting. He has over 30 years of experience in the construction and consulting industries. Prior to joining Hooper Builders, John retired from Ernst & Young, LLP where he was a partner of the firm for more than 17 years and the National Director of E&Y's Construction Advisory Services practice. Previous positions include Vice President and Secretary Treasurer of Hill International, Inc., one of the world's premier construction project management firms. John is a noted expert in the areas of project controls, project management and financial controls for major capital programs. He has extensive experience on major energy and utility projects in the USA, Canada, UK, Morocco, Nigeria, China, India, and the Philippines. John has given over 100 presentations and lectures on project management and construction risk issues for the Engineering News Record, The Construction Users Roundtable, Construction Financial Management Association, AICPA, and others. He is a co-author of the book "Construction Bonding, Insurance& Risk Management" published by McGraw Hill and "A Construction Course for Owners " published by Federal Publications, Inc.
