We needed our kitchen walls & ceiling painted. Anthony was a great & very confident salesman when he came to bid/quote on the job. He is easy going and nice to talk to. He brought two guys with him to paint. Anthony seems to be a very nice guy with a good work effort when he is working in front of you but if you aren't there to constantly monitor and suggest things he goes astray. At the end of the day when he was packing up and said that they were done I came into the room to inspect the final work and pay remainder of the fee. I found all kinds of things wrong. They reinstalled simple venetian blinds backwards. There were many, many large areas of the ceiling that were never touched by their painting. There were sections on the walls that were missing a 2nd coat and even the first coat. There were many places where they overpainted onto walls in other rooms with a much different color than their paint, very easy to see. They filled our only two large sized garbage cans with their waste materials leaving us without a place to put our garbage. The next day I found paint on in our carpet and furniture. When they were here I felt a bit like I had a bull in a china shop. He keeps promising to bring back the paint that he accidentally took after cleaning up after the job, but he hasn't showed even after two weeks after the job. He left his jacket here and also keeps saying that he will stop by that day and never shows or calls. I should have known better and listened to the bad feeling I had before I hired him. I noticed on his business card that there wasn't an address or a website. His business name is not legal; just a fictitious name that only exists on Porch.com. His business card states that he accepts credit cards but when I tried to pay him he said that he wanted a check, and not only a check but a check written directly to him and not his business. After persistency on my part asking him why; he stated that it was "to avoid paying taxes." He said that he needed to get paid that night, whether or not the job was done because he need to pay his two workers that night. I think that his workers are basically day laborers and that's why he needed to pay them that night. I am not sure why he needed my money to pay them if he was a professional, or even semi-professional. Bottom line: Anthony is a nice guy at heart and probably a great guy outside of the job. I would not hire them again nor recommend them.
