Reborn Cabinets Kitchen Reface - Irvine, CA

Feb 2017

“We want to redo our cabinets…but my kitchen is so small!” We hear this a lot here at Reborn Cabinets. You might be surprised how many people put off refreshing their kitchen simply because homeowners can’t see beyond their own square footage. Not all of us can live in a big, sprawling ranch house, but that doesn’t mean that a small kitchen can’t be polished into a real gem! This project is a great example of how dramatic the difference can be when we rethink our space—even just a little! By removing hanging cabinets, this kitchen opened-up very nicely. The light from the preexisting French doors could flow wonderfully into the adjacent family room. The finishing touches were made by transforming a very small “breakfast nook” into a clean and useful storage space.

Reborn Cabinets Kitchen Remodel With Wellborn Cabinets

Jan 2017

We are very excited to share this project with you! As you probably know, Reborn Cabinets constantly strives to manufacture the best kitchen and bathroom cabinets and Signature Refacing products! But above and beyond that, our real focus is to provide “The Ultimate Remodeling Experience!” In-line with this vision, we partnered with Wellborn Cabinets a little over a year ago, and we are thrilled with the quality and variety that Wellborn has opened-up for our clients! This kitchen began with cabinets that were over 30 years old, and that had been painted over many, many times. While Reborn Cabinets can reface most cabinets surfaces, sometimes the cabinetry is just too old to reface and achieve the look our client is looking for and deserves. This is a perfect opportunity for our Reborn Designers to introduce our clients to Wellborn! The Wellborn family has owned and operated Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. since 1961. Their goal is to provide kitchen and bath cabinets crafted by dedicated Wellborn employees with the utmost quality and care…see? It’s a great culture fit for Reborn Cabinets, and a reliable product to offer our clients who are interested in replacing their cabinets, while keeping their existing layout! As you can see, new cabinets (maple with a sienna finish), new counters (Stilestone quartz, Lena color), and a new sink (Blanco) is a dramatic change!

Reborn Bath Solutions: Aging In Place

Nov 2016

If you haven’t heard the term “aging in place” already, you’re going to hear it more and more in the next ten years. The term as emerged as more and more adults expressed their desire to stay in their own homes for as long as possible. Rather than moving into a community built around increased accessibility needs, home owners are looking to the kitchen and bath remodeling industry to innovate the spaces in their home where they perform the most important tasks. As most long-time home owners realize, the need for accessibility and safety first presents itself in the bathroom. If balance is becoming an issue for a homeowner, the first concern that tends to arise is an exponentially increased fall-risk in the bathroom. Each year, one-third of individuals report a fall, and two thirds of those who fall will fall again in the next six months. Finally, falls are the leading cause of death from injury for people over 65. Individuals coping with injury, recovering from surgery, arthritis and other similar health issues are at an even higher risk of falling. In other words, every day, more and more people are finding the act of bathing or showering difficult, worrisome or even painful! For those seeking to age in place, this is where acrylic tub-to-shower conversions, like Reborn Cabinets Bath Solutions, are incredibly helpful, and can dramatically improve a person’s quality of life. Highly customizable to meet anyone’s daily bathing needs, acrylic tub-to-shower conversions give home owners the option to add benches, safety rails, and even the ability to install a barrier-free design—easy entry for those who require wheelchairs or walkers. But the aging in place-crowd isn’t simply looking for strictly functional solutions to their daily routine. Since these innovations are changing their already-existing bathroom, there is a need to move these accessible spaces beyond function and keep them stylish. Again, aging in place is all about keeping your house a home—not a “facility.” Reborn Bath Solutions is a versatile product, allowing home-owners to choose from a great selection of colors and a wide array of fixtures. Sure, the “bathroom of your dreams” may look a little different these days, but you deserve it! Give us a call, and we’ll help you stay in your home and keep your daily sense of confidence!

Reborn Kitchen Reface Designed by Randall Dorton

Jul 2015

Nate and Sandy Guerriero have lived in their home, which is nestled in a lovely spot in the hills of Orange, for over 20 years. Both retired educators, the pair raised their two daughters right here in Orange County as they taught. Between the two of them, Nate and Sandy have educated students in almost every single grade, including several college! If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting these two, it’s easy to see why they were such successful teachers. The Guerrieos welcomed us into their home the day of our shoot with so much warmth and enthusiasm, it felt like we were all old friends. When the Guerrieros decided to remodel their kitchen, it wasn’t without experience. The two had remodeled their kitchen and dining room once before when they moved into their home. Apparently Nate and Sandy just weren’t big fans of the home’s original avocado green countertops, low faux beams, and wood paneled walls—not that anyone would blame them! For this new iteration of their kitchen, which is situated just off Nate and Sandy’s lovely backyard, the couple reached out to Reborn Cabinets. They were already very happy with their Kitchen’s layout. Possessing a California-style open format, their kitchen and dining room flow very nicely together, perfect for entertaining. The Guerrieros were hoping to capitalize on these existing features and brighten up their space, in addition to updating all their appliances since Sandy likes to cook. Well, all but one of their appliances. Nate and Sandy kept their fridge because, as Sandy said, “It still works just fine!” With all these goals in mind, our Reborn Designer Randall Dorton collaborated with the Guerrieros to come up with a plan that they could get excited about. Because the couple was already happy with the layout and structure of their kitchen, it was clear that Nate and Sandy were the perfect fit for Reborn’s Signature Refacing process. Next, a new backsplash was planned, and appliances were selected. Ultimately they chose a Thurmador microwave, oven, stovetop, and dishwasher. For their stovetop hood, the couple selected a stainless steel Imperial Hood, and went with a beautiful Rohl Fireclay Farmhouse sink—Sandy’s favorite feature! As anyone at Reborn Cabinets will tell you, updating your kitchen always comes with a few surprises. It certainly did for the Guerrieros! In the home’s original design, a corner of the pair’s cabinetry was exceptionally deep. Nate and Sandy requested that, in addition to our Signature Refacing process, our Reborn team create a small door on the other side of their counter that would be accessible from the dining room, increasing the functionality of their space. This was an excellent solution, and when the access space was created it became immediately evident how useful this little door would be! Once opened up, six plastic cups and a map of Orange County that were over 20 years old were discovered inside the paneling! These items pre-dated the Guerrieros ever moving in! You just never know what is going to come out of the woodwork, literally! We are so please that Reborn Cabinets was able to connect with you, Mr. and Mrs. Guerriero. You have both touched so many lives through your respective careers, and we were very pleased to be able to help bring the bright, cheerful kitchen you wanted and most certainly deserve come to life.
