Maintenance Unlimited gets an F from me when it comes to professionalism and customer service. I will never recommend, nor do business with them again. I consider myself to have a higher than normal tolerance for lack luster service and I don't normally write bad reviews but I feel like I'm forced to review the horrible experience I had with Maintenance Unlimited, specifically the owner, Sean McKinney. I was referred to him by my HVAC technician, Dexter Payne (Air Masters HVAC and Appliances, 678-508-2227) that I've used for years on my personal home and rental properties and highly recommend him. I hired Maintenance Unlimited to install a cage for a brand new air conditioning unit. From the start, things were just wonky. I was given a date that the install would take place but his technician didn't show up on that date. Not a big deal but still unprofessional. After the cage was installed, the technician neglected to leave the key with me or the tenant. When Sean called me for payment, I mentioned this to him. He responded that the key was left with my tenant. I checked with my tenant and the key was not left with him. I delivered this news to Sean who said he would check with his technician and get back to me. I didn't hear from him. I texted him a couple days later that still there was no key. He responded that he would drop it off the next day with the tenant. Five days passed, my tenant still doesn't have a key to the AC cage. I texted Sean again, he didn't respond. In fact, I texted Sean several times, as well as called and left a message, for almost two weeks and he completely ignored me. At this point, I'm starting to think that I've been scammed. So naturally, I called my credit card company to dispute the $450 charge since in my mind the service was incomplete as I didn't have the key to the cage. Not surprisingly, I get a call two days later from Dexter who apparently received a call from Sean complaining about the fact that I disputed the $450 charge. Conveniently, Sean didn't relay to Dexter the series of events that lead up to the disputed charged and naturally I asked, "why is he calling you and still not calling me? All I want is the key!" Sean finally calls me...I prepared myself to hear some type of explanation or apology as to why he hasn't responded to any of my texts or messages and why it has taken us three weeks and a credit card dispute to get to this point. I had no such luck. His tone was very dull and matter of fact..we scheduled a time the next day for me to pick up the key at the rental property. When we met, again, foolishly I waited for some justification or reason and apology from him. When I saw this wasn't going to happen, I directly asked him. I was shocked at his hostile temperament and at what I heard. In a nutshell, he felt that he had nothing to apologize about, he didn't know what I was talking about, he didn't ignore me, he hadn't received any of my texts, and that he was told not to leave the key with my tenant. All of which were lies but I didn't appreciate his tone so I decided to just take my keys and be completely done with him and his company. Unbelievably...to my dismay...he refuses to give me the keys until I called AMEX in front of him to cancel the dispute. I told him I fully intended to call them as soon as i was home. He insisted that I call them right then, outside in the blazing hot sun and would not give me the keys until I did so. Appalled doesn't even describe the level of disgust I felt. I did as he asked and promptly came home to write this review. Thank goodness I paid with a credit card and was able to get his attention by disputing the charge. Otherwise, I'd still be chasing Sean McKinney for the keys.

Sean and his crew did a great job replacing the A/C unit at our home. They were very professional and got the job done right in a timely manner. All the work was done at a fair price that was much lower than two other high-rated companies that gave bids. I highly recommend Maintenance Unlimited!

I asked Sean McKinney with Maintenance Unlimited to take a look at my air conditioning system. Sean inspected the entire system and provided alternatives to address the issue. I decided to have Sean order and install a new air conditioning unit. The reason I chose Maintenance Unlimited to perform the service was due to the quality of character of Sean, his timeliness of arriving at or before all scheduled appointment times and the immediate access to information Sean happily provided so I could make an informed decision. The end result was a professionally installed system at a reasonable price. Sean also went out of his way to call more than once to insure the system was working properly. I would highly recommend Maintenance Unlimited for all air conditioning services.

Mr. McKinney and his team installed two HVAC units and a water heater. Everything that was delivered, from the estimate to the install was very professionally done. I especially appreciated being able to get thoughtful answers during our selection of equipment.
