Woodrow Residences

Oct 2015

This speculative multi-family home project takes advantage of the the site's length, allowing for the two residential units to have their own private outdoor yard and outdoor dining patios. Located in the up-and-coming Northloop area, the traditional form with modern details will appeal to suburbanites who want to live the rural country lifestyle and still feel connected to the metropolitan culture.

Sunnyvale Residence

Mar 2014

This interior remodel of an existing single family residence was for a UT professor's historic home in a trending neighborhood. Our goal was to open up and reconfigure the small enclosed spaces for a larger feel and lighten-and-brighten the spaces with modern updates. We went with a classic modern feel to add life to the house for years to come.

Cambridge Tower

Dec 2013

3 individual condo units were converted into a single spacious 3600 sf luxury unit. Homage was paid to the mid-century iconic concrete and glass tower by using minimalist design elements. Hand crafted millwork was repurposed to create a grand hall study. The master bedroom and bath were opened up and redesigned to take full advantage of the panoramic downtown skyline views. Multi-folding doors replace the existing floor-to-ceiling storefront windows to open the interior space to the existing narrow perimeter balcony.

Seaholm Competition

Dec 2013

Competition concept for the existing abandoned Seaholm Intake Building. Located on the Town Lake waterfront adjacent to the Seaholm Power Plant redevelopment project, this existing shell calls for a new program that will connect to the Seaholm redevelopment. The idea is to use the existing structure as a public farmers market while creating an urban plaza space within the lake.

Lake Austin Cabin

Sep 2013

This previously undeveloped 5 acre lot, nicknamed 'the Narrows' had been a gathering place for the family since the 1970's. The beautiful Cyprus tree lined Lake Austin waterfront oasis lies just a few miles outside of downtown. The owners insisted on a simple, humble, yet unique cabin to host their family gatherings and quiet weekend retreats. This small cabin, nicknamed 'Cousin Cabana', needed to host multiple programs in a small space while maintaining a large feel. The 610 sf cabin consists of a single kitchen-living-dining room, bath, storage space, and deck. We chose natural materials and methods that would be as maintenance free as possible for years to come including an ipe rainscreen siding, custom floor-to-ceiling face-glazed steel windows, and an integrated board-formed concrete foundation-low wall-planter.

Lonesome Valley Residence

Jan 2013

An existing master suite and laundry room was reconfigured and updated to convey a more organized, and minimalistic lifestyle. A natural material palette consisting of reclaimed barnwood, concrete, glass, and steel help integrate with the feel of the existing hill country themed house. A custom steel and wood feature staircase by Steel House MFG replaced the existing entry staircase. Floating countertops using custom concrete sinks by Massif Concrete helped make the bathroom and laundry area feel wider. The reclaimed wood used on the walls, doors, and cabinetry was a tobacco-stained pine product (literally stained from years within an old tobacco factory) and was sourced from Reclaimed Design Works.
