Vasilion Architects Inc.

I posted an ad on Bark.com for a structural engineer. Steve Vasilion reached out to me. I told him what I needed, a structural engineer, to determine the soundness of my 100-year-old foundation. He assured me an architect/he could do the same job as a structural engineer. I agreed. He came out to my home and viewed the foundation. He walked around and said it "looked fine." I asked for a report on his findings to which he responded, "that'll be an extra $200 - $250. We continued our conversation and asked him what his charge was for the visit. He told me $175 plus $75 for the report?? So, so I wrote him a check for $250 in total. The next day he sent me a "report" of his findings which were ambiguous and useless. I reached out to let him know the language was unacceptable - that if I were to add any additional weight to the house based on his findings of "appearances" and the house fell down, I would be left with no assurances and no recourse. Steve wrote back with an optional language change which was simply re-stating the original verbiage. I asked for 1/2 of my money back because he did come to my house and look around, but he refused. I have tried to be fair and settle this matter without having it become a nasty matter. I asked him for $75 back (for the report), but he has dug in his heels over $75 dollars. Therefore, I am left with no other recourse than to share my story with others in hopes that do not experience the same matter with Steve or Vasilion, Inc.
