James was hired to do a remodel for my home. Below is just some of the disasters I dealt with by hiring him as the contractor.There were several mistakes that happened because he is never at the job site or checking on the work that is being done. His workers left my house unattended with the front door wide open, they left the windows opened when they leave, the key box unlocked, a mess on the floor. Just last week one of the workers girlfriends showed up at my house for no apparent reason, there are empty beer bottles in my house along with a mess of other stuff, they play loud music, and smoke around the house; on all of these matters I have voiced my concerns to James on numerous occasions and nothing is being done about it. It has been over 4 months since we started this project and every month has been a headache. He is no where near being done, on top of that he still owes the house leveling company over $8000 and won't give a clear answer as to why the house leveler hasn't been paid anything or where that money is. He owes back over 15k in money due to non payments or work he did that has to be redone. He took the check and never completed the job correctly. Do not hire this man!

James Schafer-owner-is totally unreliable with regard to showing up when he says he will, committing adequate time to the project to take care of the details. Was always running in-doing a little bit and running back out until I gave him an ultimatum to finish and then he was at my house until 8:30 at night because he didn't get on the job until mid afternoon. All this frustration was for a tile walk in shower-a 2 1/2 day job per James that took weeks and is sub par. He is a nice guy but don't be suckered in by that and a low bid like I was. I never write reviews but I depend on them so thought I would give back.
