Mac Experience

The staff in my opinion, are more interested in turning a product than providing exceptional customer service. This store was recommended to my by apple support and they said that I would not be charged until they determined what the problem was. I was told upon arrival that I would have to pay 69 dollars for them to run diagnostics. My car dealership doesn't even try to pull that one on me but lucky for them, I was desperate. They said that by paying 69 dollars, I would know what was wrong in 3 to 5 days at the latest. But, if I wanted to pay 119 dollars, I would be moved to the front of the line and would know something in 1 to 3 days at the latest. I asked how many computers they were currently working on to which this slick haired prick responded "oh I would have no way of knowing that, I'm new here." I looked at the other associate beside him and she refused to make eye contact with me. Lucky for them, I have to take a test at the end of the month and needed my computer fixed immediately to continue my prep course so I begrudgingly agreed. Once I did the equivalent of setting 119 dollars on fire and blowing it into the wind, the slick haired salesman (prick) said "usually people who are moved to the front will hear something back from us in 24 hours." And ohhh, how right he was. Not even 2 hours later, the technician called and stated that malware was present and that I would need to pay an ADDITIONAL 49 dollars for him to remove it. Having no choice, I agreed and about an hour later, my computer was ready for pickup. I have already called apple support with my concerns and will be calling them again shortly to relay that these "endorsed stores" need to be recommended with the warning that prices could very well be SIGNIFICANTLY higher than what apple would charge. I don't mind paying more for exceptional service. What I do mind, are salesmen taking advantage of vulnerable people with limited income to turn more of a profit. Its bad business and distasteful.
