Scott McBride is the master electrician you hoped you'd find but doubted you would. He's honest, affordable, and gifted. When he leaves, you'll want him to return and do more. The lantern atop our mailbox pillar had not been working for months. Did the digging to lift and level the pillar damage the neutral wire? We interviewed multiple contractors; all wanted to dig and fix or replace damaged underground wiring. The job might be small, but it was more likely to involve a 60-foot trench and lawn destruction. Scary words like "jack" and "torpedo" were bandied about. After checking our photocell and bulb (new and working well), Scott spied an outlet under a live oak, noted that the wiring had been damaged by exposure to the elements, repaired the wiring, which was connected to the lantern, and lit up our lives. We had an *above-ground* problem! He recognized and shared it. Two days later, at 7:17 a.m., when I went out to get our newspaper, I found Scott here. He was checking the outlet to assure himself that my husband had followed his directive and affixed a new cover to the box, which Scott had remarked was badly corroded. A storm was moving in quickly, Scott was on his way to a job, and he wanted to be certain that his work (our fix) was not ruined. Could a close family member be more, caring and attentive? Scott's the top-notch troubleshooter and problem-solver to have on speed dial. (Please don't tell!)
