Gone fishing remodeling

NOT RECOMMENDED!! SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNRELIABLE!!! We bought a house and wanted to hire a pro to complete few renovation projects (Kitchen & Fireplace) before we move in. I contacted Rob and he came to review the scope of work and he confirmed he can do the job with the budget I had in mind. I asked him to stop by 2-3 weeks after that to show him the materials I bought for the projects and to finalize schedule and budget to ensure he can start working after we sign the purchase contract and before we move in. He came and took some measurement and said he cannot do it with the budget we agreed on the first time. Obliviously, I preferred not to increase the budget but asked him to give me his new estimate so I can check my finances and see if we can do it... HE NEVER DID!! I called, texted & emailed him multiple times but he kept ignoring me for a week. Just few days before closing date, my wife called him and since he didn’t recognize the caller he picked up and said he still want to do the job and he was just super busy… He told my wife that he will provide his estimate by the end of the day… again, HE NEVER DID!! I’m not sure if he had second thought about his own capabilities and was not sure if he could finish the job or if he got a bigger project and decided to ignore us even though he said he will do it. I understand if a contractor cannot do a job with a client’s proposed budget, they can negotiate and sometimes they don't reach an agreement but there is no justification for lying, ignoring and wasting a client’s time. We ended up hiring a professional to complete the project after we moved in which was not ideal. We increased the budget about 30% and are completely happy with the results. I do not recommend Rob Shay for any project since he is so unprofessional and unreliable.

Rob did a great job on my cabinet painting . But, then we agreed to do another job. I gave him the keys the the next job (house was vacant). Now, he won't return any calls or texts. He sends my calls to voicemail and simply refuses to engage. Astoundingly unprofessional.

Rob is a great guy. I have multiple projects inside and outside for his group, fireplace, door, window, garage door, and caulk....... Very professional and make all places clean after work. He complete the work until you are satisfied. Really great prices, fairer than fair.
