Renovations Landscaping, Inc

We selected Renovations for a Retaining Wall project 10/27/2022. Matt their Project manager came out with another employee on 11/01/2022. I showed them my plans and answered their questions. They said they were starting the project immediately. They collected an $11k check from us (50% of project cost per contract), and then immediately left. Nobody has been out since and not 1 shovel of dirt has been dug. Since then I have received approximately 15 texts from Matt (I have copies) with various statements of we are getting equipment, we will be there tomorrow, we will be there Monday, our truck broke, our workers went to Mexico for the holidays, I will call you with status (never happened), etc, etc. None of which ever happened. I made it clear to Matt that I was not happy and wanted to talk to the owner Ben (we tried calling the business phone and leaving messages several times). Never received any call back. Matt would text saying he is sorry but still working on things. Said he would come out the week of 12/12/2022 to discuss. Never happened. No call or anything. On 12/15/2022, the wife and I decided that we needed to take action, so I texted Matt and told him we were done, that we felt they (Renovations) was in breach of contract and that we wanted our $11k back ASAP. Matt's response was that he was just a Project Manager and really could not do anything about their issues with the project. He further stated that while he did bring Sergio out to our property to do the work, it was identified that they could not perform the required work (then why did they accept contract and take our money, seems like fraud to me). He said his hands were tied, and gave me Ben's (the owners) cell number. Ben has never called me back after several messages left and asks that Matt have him call. After Christmas I will be contacting a Lawyer. This is exactly what Landscaping contractor nightmares are made of... BEWARE OF RENOVATIONS LANDSCAPING.

Run run run! DO NOT CALL!! Crook, long story short doesn’t honor warranty work though he says he does we got 4 dead trees a leaky deck and molding around deck buckling and cracking cause they didn’t use water proof stuff...came to our home afterwards said he’d fix everything lied to our faces! Won a judgement against him trying to get him served now he’s hiding.... his business address is a UPS store, he’s using BBB on his website BBB has warning he is using it illegally....that should tell you everything! Ben is a crook don’t even bother calling! Also using business names western enterprises inc, bens lawn service, bens green lawn service....BEWARE!!
