Ahrens Construction

Ahrens Construction did several jobs for us this summer and overall, we are very pleased with their work. Because the land behind our house had settled, whenever it rained the water was flowing back towards our house and we would get some water in our basement. Joe and his team removed the concrete walkway from behind our house, regraded the land, and then repoured the walkway so that the water flows away from our house. I am delighted to say that after three heavy rains, we have not had a drop of water in our basement – it all flows away from the house, just like Joe had said it would. Joe and his team are highly reliable professional workers, and are meticulous about the quality of the work they do. In addition to the re-grading job, Joe and Barry also tuck-pointed our balustrades and managed to get the new mortar to blend in perfectly with the old. Our house is almost 100 years old, and Joe seems to really understand the need for attention to detail with a house of this age. Another big plus about Joe is that he communicates regularly about his schedule, and actually does what he says he’s going to do, when he says he will do it! Having someone who texts with the exact time they are arriving takes a lot of the stress out of having work done. Joe is also a very pleasant person to interact with and I highly recommend him for any construction job.

Had several projects, kitchen, roof, patio, driveway, misc....Everything cost more money in the end....kitchen - the counter top and floor were 2 inches shorter then base cabinet, nothing lines up on that side....suppose back splash wasn't in bid so I had to pay $700 more....roof - stains in a room so we had roof redone, 2 months later stains are back and he stole my extra bundles of shingles, $7,500 for what.....driveway $6,500 bid, later he said it didn't include curb/gutter, he wanted 1,800 more....NO I WOULD NOT HIRE THEM OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE....to expensive for the quality of work

I used Ahrens Construction and was happy with their workmanship, and their attitude. They told me when it would be done and it was. I would definitely use them again.

Beautiful Work. Very Personable. Our Bathroom turned out much nicer than I imagined it would. Plus, very reasonable.
