In 1977, Jim T. Askew purchased the business, and in 1978 Steven T. Haskett became partner, at which time Clovis Sanger Cabinet Manufacturing Inc., was primarily engaged in kitchen remodeling. In an effort to expand the business they focused their attention on subdivision developers. The move has shown to be beneficial, even though high interest rates and the decline in construction in the early years (1980-1981) caused them to question their wisdom.
