We had our house build by HG Walton & Sons back in 2014. We really liked Justin and his wife and thought we lucked out getting such a great builder. However that all changed less than a year later. Our house started having cracks in the walls and doors wouldn't close right. I could go on and on about the 3 years that followed but I will try to keep this short so you actually read it for your own sake. After getting the run around from Justin we had to take matters in our own hands and hire a lawyer. We spent tons of money and time to ultimately have an arbitrator award us with a settlement amount because it was deemed that there were foundation issues. It was such a long hard battle but it felt like it wasn't for nothing when we received that award letter. That is until we realized getting Justin to actually pay the award was going to be a whole other challenge. That was back in 2018 and we have yet to see ONE PENNY from him!!!! Thanks to him and his lawyers finding loop holes by moving all his assets and changing his company name we have been left with cleaning up the mess ourselves. Why am I writing this review so long after? Well during the legal battles we just kept hoping he would do the right thing and then after we were so burned out we just wanted to try and forget about it and focus on rebuilding our lives. We have done our best to move on but still 3 years later we can't help but think about it because it was such a mental and financial loss. We still can't believe someone would play dirty like that and dodge a legal obligation. The good reviews on here are probably legit because we really liked him too but it a true test of someone's character to see how they behave in a situation like this. We truly believe this was a mistake and we all make mistakes but then you should own up to that and fix them. Justin clearly has not!!! If he ever decides to do the right thing, I will be happy to remove this review. Until then, please reach out if you don't think this is true and I will be happy to show you our reward letter.

Was looking for a smaller custom builder when I came across this guy. Did some research after speaking to people in the area. I was directed to this video with Ian Faria, a Real Estate Attorney, I'm told is currently representing HGW & Sons but with a different firm. You will have to verify that on your own, however the video was very helpful as it told me what to look out for when dealing with builders, and even how to make sure they honor their warranty and a home owner's rights under Chapter 27 in Texas regarding defects. https://youtu.be/Dy0VpcZx7vs

Considered 2 builders seriously-had a lot of questions to say the least. Corporationwiki.com offered some info on the 2- this one has too many businesses going from what I can tell. Map kind of confusing.
