Westview Sunrooms & Skylights

Client had a small galley kitchen that need to expand to accommodate family gatherings. This was a complete kitchen remodel, approximately $205K, including all new tile flooring, appliances and cabinets. The addition of a Westview Solarium as part of the remodel project provided natural lighting and allowed the view of the outdoors to complement the second story location.

This client did a lot of entertaining and needed to expand their family room area and yet have something that was energy efficient as it was extending the southwest corner of the home. Westview designed the space and worked with the clients contractor to create a space with an open floor plan, allowing plenty of natural light for year-round use. A concrete slab floor was poured at ground level, which supported the Westview unit and was a structural part of the knee wall. Our columns run through the knee wall, eliminating any worries of buckling at the joint. Casement windows surround the room, with a wood/clad French door and two operable skylights in the roof for ventilation. This room was completed over 15 years ago and is an integral part of the home. With the influx of natural light, this is most inviting room in the house.
