ICON Construction Plumbing Restoration, LLC

I signed a contract with Mike Bakke from Icon construction on 10/29/19, today is December 20, 2019 and no work has started as of yet. Yes, almost 2 months to get a permit according to them. Mike Bakke told me 3 weeks ago the permit was approved then called me later in the day stating they needed a letter from my associations approving the scope of the work. I had to ask the secretary if he was new at obtaining permits in Palm beach County because how would he not know I needed this? Anyway you call them to find out information and no one returns your call, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ! I advised them on December 17, 2019 I would like to drop my keys off, get a new bill as I picked up my tile on November 1, 2019 and they just wanted to me to get the Sku number (my fault) and asked them what type of shower door I could order because I am starting treatment for Cancer the week of December 23, 2019. I went to the office and of course no one could provide me any information, the secretary called Mike Bakke on his cell phone to find out the answers to my questions but like usual he did not answer. A couple of hours later I received a phone call from a woman who stated I can go to Home Depot or Lowes and pick out a shower door that does not exceed 450.00 Mike could have easily told me that over the phone ! Today, December 20, 2019 I called and spoke to the very nice secretary who apparently gets the brunt of all these problems with ICON construction. Mike happened to be standing in the office and she handed the phone to me. I asked him what size shower door do I need? Seemed like a very simple questions as he had taken measurements of the square footage and work to be done on October 29, 2019. He told me he does not know what size I need. My condominium is 10 minutes from their office, he could have easily gone over there and taken the measurement so I can pick a shower door out this weekend before I start cancer treatment on Monday. I hung up on this obnoxious pompous character and told him to put in whatever they like as I do not anticipate these 2 small bathrooms to come out decent in anyway judging by their lack of professionalism and arrogance. Now I'm sure they will try to blame me in the delay of getting the permit but in no way did I delay it. They were quick to take my 5,000.00 deposit on October 29, 2019 and have produced nothing in 52 days which is almost 8 weeks since I signed the contract. I blame myself for hiring them as I should have read the reviews more carefully and not from their website where everyone gives them a 5.0, that is laughable. Apparently they are good at fixing a leaky sink or toilet bowl but they can't even obtain a permit in 2 months. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED and my work hasn't even started yet ! They are no longer approved to be on the home advisor site, that should tell you a lot !
