Custom Concrete and Stone

Edward Armenta was contracted to pour, color and stamp concrete on our back patio. He came to the property and provided us a quote. After we accepted the quote, he wanted to increase the cost by 30% day of. After agreeing to a 20% increase and paying half up front, Edward and his workers proceeded to demo the existing concrete. After noticing some serious issues with his work (cutting corners by not capping sprinklers and wanting to pour over, not compacting repurposed concrete to allow for 4" pour per contract, leaving large 8-10" concrete chunks in patio area) we questioned his work. Instead of attempting the fix the obvious issues, he abruptly declined to finish the work and walked away from the project leaving us a dangerous disaster in our backyard, a huge pile of concrete on the road in front of our house and promised us a refund to be determined by us. The concrete pile was removed by his men after a week and we did not receive ANY money back. We received no value for his work and 7 other concrete companies agreed his work wasn’t done accurately and would have cracked immediately. BBB complaint has been submitted.

AWFUL! Workmanship is shoddy at best. We had a pool surface repaired and painted. In the end, repairs were left undone, no prep work done for painting so there is paint EVERYWHERE. When I asked Edward to come back to show him what a mess his crew had left, he indicated that I should hire someone else to finish. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! They have a printed guarantee and do not intend on honoring it. I now have another company that has to come back and cut out grout and repair concrete and paint.

Mr. Armenta was contracted to replace my existing driveway and pour a new patio June 2015. My work was completed, including the truck ruts in my front yard from the cement truck. The work looked great other than the permanent ruts in my front yard. However, my concrete has started to pit and peel away in various spots in my driveway/patio/and walkway. I've contacted Mr. Armenta March 2, again March 18, 2016 regarding the decaying status of my newly poured concrete and finally received a message back regarding the issue. He asked for my location to schedule an appointment to see the problem. I never received a call from him, I again requested follow up on April 1, 2016 with no response and again April 13, 2016 stating it's been over a month since I first contacted him regarding the guarantee he gave when he did the job. I have construction defect that he guaranteed, and now he is not following through nor is he even providing customer service. My concrete is less than 6 months old when it started falling apart - this should not be happening. I just replaced old pitting concrete for the reason I'm now faced with 6 months later. I came home one day to see "Patch" jobs done to my porch and driveway, when I contacted him to say I'd have liked to have known they were stopping by and that the concrete doesn't match and it basically looks like someone spilled concreted across my porch. He then told me they'd come and repair in the beginning of November, I've contacted him multiple times and he doesn't respond. I wanted a new driveway/porch on my house to be proud of - this is a pure shame and frustration. BEWARE OF CUSTOME CONCRETE AND STONE. They do not stand behind their work as he says he does. And quality is not their first concern.
