Russo Garden | Jun 2010 | Despite the small size of the garden space behind the Russo family's home, the client desired a large lawn to give their children room to play. The lawn, together with a new deck, forms one large space carved out of greenery. To create the illusion that the garden is larger than it really is, the design focused on developing a thick, green edge created by multiple layers of vegetation that gives the eye a sense of depth. This obscures the boundaries of the garden, so that the green edge becomes visually linked with greenery in neighboring yards. The layered edge consists of fences covered with vines, a slope with shrubs, perennials and groundcovers and finally an inner layer with curved seating walls, trellises and a stair that leads to nowhere. This garden with its beautifully designed details and fragrant plants was a recipient of an AIA/SWO people's choice award and is a true sanctuary for its owners | $5k | Eugene, OR
Minimalist Garden | Jun 2010 | Straight lines, grays, greens and browns were what the client wanted for this modern minimalist garden. The garden includes a clever space behind a wall for garden materials, a patio, deck, and green house. This minimalist garden required exquisite execution of details and finishes. | $5k | Portland, OR
Stizlein Garden | Feb 2010 | LandCurrent landscape architects brilliantly combined a contemporary garden style with natural play components for the Stitzlein family in Portland, Oregon. A meandering pathway with steps leads up a hillside that was once too steep to be useful as a play landscape. The path leads to a slide embedded in the landscape and a custom designed tree house. A large deck near to the house provides ample space for family dinners and parties Cost Amount shown is for design consulting only. In general design consulting costs are 15% of construction costs. | $13k | Portland, OR
Brannock Garden | Jun 2006 | LandCurrent landscape architects conceived of a unique contemporary garden in Portland, Oregon. This project was the 2008 Eugene, Oregon, Architecture Colleague's Choice. Cost amount shown is for design consulting services only. Design consulting amount is approximately 15% of construction cost. | $10k | Portland, OR
