I give this guy 0 stars! He's a thief! He STOLE $3000 from me and never showed up to do the work. He has now blocked my phone number after 3 weeks of giving me excuse after excuse about why he couldn't start yet. I don't believe he ever planned on starting the job. I think he is just a con artist. DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY ANY MONEY!

Dan came highly recommended from people I truly respect. They said he did great work but had trouble focusing on the job at hand. After reviewing 4 total bids, I picked Dan Keel Construction largely based on these recommendations. One of the worst decisions of my life. Apparently, he hid the fact that his business partner (who had been involved in the bidding process and was to be ensure the project was completed on time) left the company. Dan no longer had a working van so that meant demo could not be carried off the property but would store it in the garage and along the side of the house. Dan would show up a couple days a week, work for 6 hours and then disappear for 5 or more days. He always had an excuse and asking for additional advances on money against the completion of the project. Deadlines came and went. We were patient, understanding, and even generous (probably too much so), and eventually he was fired after completing less than a quarter of the project in three times the agreed to time frame. He owes us over $8000 in work and materials and we are now having to pursue him through the small claims court. Right before he was fired, he wanted to come, explain everything and get another advance on the job. When told he would get no more money, he has dropped off the face of the earth and has not contacted us in over 2 weeks, even after notification he would be fired. Be VERY wary of hiring this guy. Despite the recommendations on pass work, I wish someone had told me that the music was stopping and there were no more chairs!

I hired Dan Keel from Keel Construction for a siding removal and replacement, and to finish a custom shed. He started off well with his apprentice and himself. He was even so personable that I referred him to a job that someone in my family needed help with. But he had some personal problems that made him unreachable for a couple of weeks, and in the meantime, his apprentice ran out on him. Once he was reachable again, he made weeks of excuses and broke his word. I finally gave up on having him finish the project. I can't even file a complaint against his Department of Labor license because it has been deactivated, so I'm not sure if he's licensed and bonded.

Dan did a great job fixing our sloping countertop. He added metal braces to our existing wood korbles (to keep everything looking pretty) and resupported our large granite breakfast bar, re-grouted the tile backsplash where it meets the granite and caulked everything that needed it. I would highly recommend Dan and we will be hiring him again for future projects.
