Newly Remodeled Construction

Matt Blackwelder and Danielle Ernst of Newly Remodeled Construction presented a contract in person on Feb 24th after I sent them plans for a front porch addition to our home. They were extremely nice and excited about the job. They requested 1/3 down to hold our spot and pay for supplies, noting pillars and lumber were in high demand causing a material shortage and therefore needed to be ordered soon to be available for start date of May 3rd. We wrote them a check for $8665.00. Danielle was in charge of finances and ordering. Danielle never followed through with ordering and they both continued to lead us on believing they did. In addition upon depsoiting check, they were supposed to pay sprinkler service to have our system moved away from where front porch was to be built. Danielle was in charge of that so I kept texting asking when this was to happen. They kept leading us on with short responses. When pillars did not show up on the expected delivery date, I called and texted. I was told by both that they had experienced a tragedy and were running 2 weeks behind. We reached out with our condolences offering to help in any way. After 2 weeks past I reached out to Katie, Danielle’s best friend who owns a roofing company and who was to help them with roof on our front porch addition. I asked her opinion of how to approach this matter since their delay was due to a tragedy. She said she was wondering when I was going to call. At this point I realized this was all a scam. I called my bank to see where check was deposited and they cashed it for cash. I called pillar company and order was never paid for. We are now asking them for our money back.
