They rescued me from a disreputable contractor and erased my ptsd from him. They do what they say they will do and keep you in the loop on everything. Excellent craftsmanship.

C and D rates five stars in our house. They are professional, extremely skilled and thoughtful. And they call you back and come out when they say they will. C and D are a husband/wife team ..(the dream team) along with their 2 adult sons who absolutely know what they're about: quality, creative and beautiful home improvement. My husband and I enjoy recycling or repurposing materials. If you have an idea for a home improvement and they think what you need might be at Restore, Inc, they will go find it. This is better for the earth AND also better on your pocket book. They also can do beautiful custom work. I had a headboard made from old wood and believe me, you won't find it at any furniture store.

Log House Addition | Nov 2015 | The clients wanted a more usable space at the back of their log home, they seldom used the deck and wanted to add a hot tub. We were able to dismantle the deck and re-use parts of it for a grilling platform and steps down into the yard. More challenging was matching the weather-worn patina of the exterior log siding to the new and unfinished wood siding for both the inside and the outside of the addition. The total floor space was 16 by 38 feet, with windows on all three sides, we also had to reinforce the substructure to hold an 8 by 8 foot hot tun full of water! To brighten up the all wood space we added skylights and ceiling fans to keep the temperature cooler in the summer. The brick style floor is actually individual tiles that look like street pavers, and the names of cities like Chicago and San Francisco are stamped on individual tiles! The clients are using the space for their new hot tub and work out equipment and for extra living space for their family. | $57k | Reeseville, WI
Barn House Bathroom Remodel | Oct 2015 | We remodeled the master bathroom of this post and beam frame home that was formerly a barn. The owners had done a really nice job decorating the home, but the only flaw was the outdated 1980's bathroom with a redwood platform bath tub, fake green marble sinks and navy blue Formica counter. They wanted an updated look that still worked with the style of the home. We added a faux stone half wall where there was formerly rough wood paneling, installed a reclaimed barn beam on the end wall to match the original beam under the windows, custom built a new tile shower with a shaving step and inset niches and a foot massaging river rock floor, installed wall to wall vanity cabinets for a built-in look, worked with the roof pitch to add a tower cabinet on top of the quartz counter, and installed all new oil-rubbed bronze fixtures and frameless shower pivot door with matching hardware. Although the floor looks like barnwood, it is actually maintenance free ceramic tile; durable, waterproof and easy to clean. The showpiece of the bath is a free standing clawfoot slipper tub with floor mounted oil rubbed bronze fixtures. Luxurious and spa-like this updated master bath fits right into the unique character to the home. | $23k | Helenville, WI
Lakeside Deck with Unlimited Seating | Jun 2012 | These clients had an old deck which had been built by the previous homeowner; it was rotting and structurally unsound. While they loved the size and layout of the existing deck, much of it had to be re-built and structurally reinforced; footings were improperly done and had to be replaced, there were insufficient supports for the size and weight of the structure. The clients enjoy having large parties on the deck and needed as much seating as possible, as well as safety precautions and structural soundness. We were able to accommodate the beautiful lake views from the house without compromising safety. The resulting structure compliments the surrounding landscape, seats many guests on the bench/railing sides, and allows great views from the house! | $14k | Palmyra, WI
Budget Kitchen Remodel | Oct 2010 | This was a true galley kitchen with a small seating area at the front of the house which left the person preparing dinner totally cut off from the rest of the family. We suggested taking out the wall between the kitchen and dining rooms, which allowed the space to be opened up all the way to the living area. Unfortunately, once we opened up the exterior wall we found severe water damage from an improperly installed deck on the second level. The entire exterior wall had to be replaced, studs, headers and all, which caused a serious dent in the remodel budget. Luckily we found a 24 piece set of reclaimed cherry cabinets in good condition at a local Restore. After getting the go ahead from the owner we purchased the set and ordered new black cabinets to complete the office space and island, and replace the missing kitchen sink base. The homeowners stepped outside their comfort zone a bit when choosing counters and paint colors, but the end result was breath-taking. Installing hand scraped hickory hardwood flooring throughout the kitchen, dining room and entrance hall tied all of the spaces together; complimentary paint colors and new artistic lighting completed the look. | $24k | Cambridge, WI
Whole House Renovation | Jul 2010 | This home had been rented to the same tenant for 17 years and had no updates or maintenance done by the owners. When we first visited this home the question was whether or not it was worth the cost of fixing up, or if it should just be torn down. After walking the property, and discussing all of the updates required the homeowners opted to fix it up, and we had our work cut out for us! The entire project included a new roof, repair and painting of the exterior, tuck-pointing the exterior rock walls, rebuilding the rear porch, refinishing the oak floors, renovating the entire bathroom, transforming the breezeway into living space, replacing kitchen counters and back splash, making all of the windows functional, replacing flooring in the kitchen, dining room, entry and bathroom; not to mention cleaning, cleaning and cleaning. | $35k | Jefferson, WI |
