Tom Peters Construction

I went through Home Advisors for the addition of a 4-season add-on room/patio due to their supposed vetted contractors for home improvement projects. Tom Peters Construction had limited reviews for being in business for 47 years but most people seemed happy with the service they received. In my experience, multiple issues arose. First, he was able to produce a bid, sitting in my driveway, in about 15 minutes. That supposedly included meeting and planning with his architect. The architect did come to the house and left with my original detailed drawings which were submitted for the building permit- that was the extent of the architectural support. Second, his two goons are probably acceptable framers, period! Beyond that, they had no clue as to how to sheath archways; nor, did they know how to lay out and cut them with any accuracy. I personally had to fill and recut the archways to facilitate the stucco work. Third, as others have stated, Tom Peters makes promises that he doesn't keep; and, often forgets that he has made. Fourth, due to Peter's estimating practices, subcontractors often have to cut corners and/or provide less than adequate services. These issues can become significant structural problems when foundations and concrete work are involved- I now have to have the perimeter of the mono slab stabilized due to the lack of adequate cut, fill, and compaction. Tom Peters Construction is the ultimate example of bid low, provide the minimum of services possible, and get in and get out as quickly as possible. Do not hire!

Tried to get a quote to do work on our new home. The guy that answered the phone was incredibly rude. As the public face of the company I cant imagine how terrible they actually are. STAY AWAY!

I would never use this guy agin! He might know foundations but new construction was a joke!!! My roof leaked three times after he should of fixed it. He forgets things that he's said! I finally had someone else fix it right! He needs to retire!
