Time for me to update my original review; downgrading from 5 stars to 2. We hired this team in 2017 to create a design for our front and backyards. When they were finished, our yard was GORGEOUS. My requirements were simple: drought resistant, slow growing plants, no bigger at maturity than 2' x 2'. Replace all the mulch with rocks. Small plants, separated by space to show off the rocks. I repeated again and again, I'm not a plant person, I don't want to constantly have to baby the plants (I'd really rather have no plants at all), plants need to be slow growing, not overshadow the house and the tons of river rocks we wanted instead of mulch. Slow growing, no bigger than 2' x 2' when mature. I was assured all the plants met my requirements; there would be no need to constantly trim. All the plants were drought resistant, slow growing dwarf varieties. My main complaint now is the lack of response from these folks. There are five plants in the front yard that need constant grooming; according to several landscapers we've had, no way are they dwarfs. They are HUGE. I've contacted Woodland several times to complain about the size of these plants. According to one landscaper, these particular plants can reach 10' tall! They are already nearly 6' tall and cover our porch railing. They are killing the plants near them. Our once beautiful landscape now looks like a jungle. We can't see our house's foundation, can't see all that beautiful river rock, and we've been told it will cost us $1,000 to have another landscaper remove the full size plants and replace them with the dwarf plants Woodland was supposed to plant in the first place. And the response from Woodland in 2020? "I don’t know why they are so big. I would just rip them out and replace with something else if you don’t like them." So Woodland says I should pay someone to fix the problem THEY created. So I thought I'd try one last time. Wrote to Woodland recently. Evidently, Woodland expects me to pay them twice. Oh, and they can get to it in six months. Don't make the same mistake I did. INSIST you inspect all plant labels to ensure they are planting exactly what they're supposed to. And don't expect them to back up their work. Spend your thousands elsewhere.

Hardscape/water feature/fire pit | Sep 2017 | Remove any old rotting deck and create a entertainment area with seating, outdoor kitchen, and have a fire pit sitting area for entertaining. Also to create additional interest with the installation of a pond less waterfall all of which can be enjoyed at night with low voltage landscape lighting. | Yorktown, VA | ||
Hardscape landscape water feature | Jun 2017 | This was a beautiful project. Customer had small space but wanted to live comfortably outdoors. We installed a 2 level paver patio with latter seating walls with lighting. We also did all of the landscaping with lighting and a water feature which is 2 bubbling urns - custom built with lighting also. All topped off with a fire pit. Nicely done. | Hampton, VA |
