Chrysalis Award Entry Residential Interior over $100K Our "empty nester" clients purchased a lovely cottage in a community built to replicate a Tudor Village. After several design revisions the clients agreed to give up a bedroom and a powder room to gain the enlarged kitchen, walk-in master closet and separate double-entry laundry room that they so desired. They then agreed the existing study would become the guest bedroom. After the design was set, with the input of the Interior Designer client, we went about recreating this cottage into the home of their dreams. The scope of this project included every room of the residence with the utmost of attention paid to every detail.

Chrysalis Award Entry Fireplace Remodel The clients came to us requesting a fresh, clean, less intrusive fireplace for their living room. They were looking for a contemporary stream-line presentation in both the facade and the firebox. We removed the heavy dark brick columns and hearth and then replaced the existing wood burning gas unit with a new style gas sealed burner contemporary unit that contains Amber glass and ribbon fire rather than the traditional gas logs. The competed design not only added square footage to the room, but has completely revitalized the living room with its new presentation.

Chrysalis Award Entry Kitchen over $100K Our client purchased an older home with the plan to demolish the existing structure and rebuild over the existing footprint. The new plan that was created included a completely new layout for the home with the key element being the center of the home: the kitchen. This large and impressive kitchen space was designed with beauty, comfort and entertaining in mind. The client's love to cook and to accommodate large gatherings. A beamed cathedral ceiling, suspended chandeliers, and custom cabinets are the elements that painted this picture perfectly.

Chrysalis Award Entry Kitchen $75K-$100K Our client's dreams of an open flow between the kitchen, breakfast and family rooms were realized by extending the sink wall out 3 and replacing the kitchen bay window with a triple casement flat window thus straightening the entire sink wall. The challenge of removing a load bearing wall was addressed with the support columns at either end of the sink wall which were then encased in paneled cabinetry and became an intricate part of the cabinet detailing. To add one more perfect detail, a coffered area was added over the island to settle the middle space of this new open expanse.

Chrysalis Award Entry Bath under $40K This urban residence, with its stucco walls, exposed brick and warm wood floors, although beautiful in its setting, was in need a master bath update. With the removal of two full height walls we were able to completely open the space and create an open flow that was then further enhanced by the material choices. The wasted space allocated to the water closet area was designed into the new Rift-cut oak floating cabinetry layout, allowing for two rectangular vessel bowls. Stacked stone slate walls and splash tiles are perfectly mated with the warmth of the honed, butter colored limestone counter, tub decking and flooring. The four levels of lighting added the final "sparkle" to this fantastic design.
