Complete renovation of a walkout basement with interior shower area. Remove partition walls, relocate HVAC ductwork, install new furnace and ducting, level floors, level ceiling joists, reconfigure bathroom layout, install new steam shower, and Cape Cod Beach Cottage theme colors and painted trim with sealed cedar plank accents, wood plank-like heated ceramic tile flooring, luxury faucets and shower heads, custom granite countertop with vessel sink, heated towel bar, aromatherapy, and WiFi connectivity. Bedrooms, Entertainment Area, and adjoining spaces were renovated to include cedar-lined closets, barn-style doors, fresh paint colors, updated LED lighting, and coordinating driftwood and barn wood paneling, flooring and a custom built Entertainment and Gaming Center to complement the bright color palate and contrasting white tile and mirror mosaic tiles and fixtures in order to illuminate what was a previously dark and uninviting area of the home. Special care was take to create additional Utility Rooms and access points for future remodeling of the Kitchen and Living Room(overhead) to ensure that make-up air features for upgraded cooking appliances and to accommodate a planned configuration change to the cabinets and food preparation areas. This complex multi-phase project was started in 2017 and completed in 2018.

Perform selective demolition of the gypsum and plaster walls, oak flooring, plank subflooring, and reinforce the floor joists to facilitate leveling and installation of a heated travertine tile floor, new Sterling shower pan, Scabos travertine tile shower walls with Tile-Redi niche, new Moen shower faucet and anti-scald mixing valve, Sterling bypass shower door in brushed nickel, with Seabreeze scented premium flat ceramic paint by California paints, Ultra Bright Flat White Ceiling paint, reclaimed sealed oak trim, and reinstallation of a vanity/sink combo with Moen faucet, a new American Standard toilet, and humidity sensing bath fan.

This multiple room completion of a two-story addition was originally started as a massive DIY project in 2000. It included installing heated flooring, ceramic and slate tile, custom oak and pine trim, applied paint, stain and finish coatings, shiplap cedar and traditional wainscot paneling with built-up rails, base, shoe, and built-out window sills and aprons, hickory, maple, and oak cabinet and bookcase installation, quartz countertops, hickory and maple hardwood flooring, central vacuum connections, custom lighting, period correct door hardware, pulls, handles, and specialty finishes. Living areas included Master Bedroom and Bathroom Suite, 1 Guest Bathroom, 1 Powder Room (1/2 bath), Gourmet Kitchen, Great Room, Family Room, 2 Hallways, Crafts/Project Room, Laundry Room with Apron Sink and extra dishwasher, and a Walk-in Cedar Lined Attic Storage Closet, Covered Porch, as well as 3 Bedrooms and Closets of the Main House that was originally built in 1956. Along with all the interior work, we repaired siding, window trim, cleaned the exterior, and replaced garage door seals and other details for improved resistance to the elements. We started this multi-phase DIY Rescue project in 2016 and completed in 2018.

Sand and refinish all existing wood deck and porch members, and install new custom color Rain-Out(r) aluminum underdeck drainage and gutter system to create a dry living area to accommodate a new hot tub.

Remove and replace damaged pantry cabinet, over-refrigerator cabinet, and install partition support at end of cabinet wall to support over-refrigerator cabinet that was not part of original configuration. Repair damaged drywall areas, install new matching trim as required, prime, and paint. Re-design cabinet layout, clean, repair, and replace damaged tile and grout. Clean all floor tile in kitchen and bath areas and reseal. Clean and re-seal all granite counter top surfaces. Remove and replace inoperable hinged shower door, modify trim and replace tile with new material, and re-grout modified areas in preparation for placing the home on the market for sale.
