Blackberry Farm, an exclusive Relais & Chateaux resort community situated at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, has been a cherished client for Johnson Architecture since 1999. Our most recent endeavor is the new 12,000 square-foot Wellhouse. This new spa includes eight treatment rooms (including two wet treatment rooms), a reception and retail area, fitness center, locker/changing areas, lounge, and staff areas. Carefully sited in a tree-lined meadow at the edge of Blackberrys picturesque original property, and surrounded by aromatic herb gardens and tranquil pools, the new Wellness Center & Spa offers seasonal, farm-inspired spa treatments as well as a range of fitness options. The thoughtfully designed facility also incorporates steam rooms, quiet lounges, one-on-one consultation areas, a classroom and juice bar. In keeping with the propertys rustic yet refined style, the new structure pairs reclaimed materials and state-of-the-art technology to create a re-imagined barn that integrates seamlessly into Blackberrys classic country estate while exuding the same sense of modern balance guests will experience in the space. Developed as both a response to guests increasingly active interests and as an ideal complement to Blackberrys existing range of amenities.
